Of course I'm not mining 24/7, I just have poclbm running on my desktop whenever I'm not doing anything or not at my computer...

But people aren't doing this to make a living. It's literally free money for now. Electricity cost is under the money you make mining, and anyone with a decent graphics card can do it. My machine would be doing nothing otherwise; I also have a job that provides me money ON TOP of the money I'm making with bitcoin.

why would i do that for a profit of like 0.003
You get smaller payments more often, this isn't hard to understand.
Your payout per block is (Your shares / total shares) * 50.
Larger pools will have higher total shares, but they'll also get through blocks quicker.
No pool is going to give "better" payouts besides the 0-3% they take off which really doesn't make a difference. The smaller the pool, the more luck plays a role.

All it took for me was an ebay account with 3 positive feedback.
Bitmarket.eu isn't even that good anyway, britcoin is much better if you're in the UK, otherwise mtgox.
