You don't see that as a fire hazard? I'm not even happy leaving my computer on overnight :tinfoil:
If you consider that a fire hazard, you must have a REALLY SHITTY power supply or wiring in your house.
If you consider that a fire hazard, you must have a REALLY SHITTY power supply or wiring in your house.
Most of the back of my computer is covered by a curtain :v:
You don't see that as a fire hazard? I'm not even happy leaving my computer on overnight :tinfoil:
My Windows Server machine: I've done 15 days of uptime on my main rig easy once but after that Windows started dying. I did 3 months on a Linux box easy last year.
You don't see that as a fire hazard? I'm not even happy leaving my computer on overnight :tinfoil:
It's not a fire hazard, at all. I leave my computers on all the time unless the power goes out, or I'm required to restart because of an update. Something would have to be seriously wrong with your machine in order for it to start a fire.
I leave mine on 24/7 what did I come back to find, windows update had reset it at 3am for 'important updates' meaning it'd been sitting there doing nothing all early morning. Make sure yours doesn't do that.
No, I'm updating manually today so it doesn't do that shit. :buddy: [editline]17th June 2011[/editline] Actually, I'm turning off auto-updating just to be safe. [editline]17th June 2011[/editline] .001 BTC. Fuck yeah! Just .999 more to go. :downs:
Liberty Reserve is a mess, I can't find anything. Apparently that want me to use third parties to transfer my money from Liberty Reserve to something. Since I don't have a bank account and I'm not going to explain how bitcoins work to my mother, who can barely work the digital cable box, I need Paypal. Is there some sort of alternative to MtGox that's still heavily used and not sketchy?
BitMarket.eu
I decided not to do Bitcoin, I have a job that pays very well so it's not worth it for me. :v: Good luck to the rest of you.
I have a job too; you're not obligated to look at the miner running :P
Does anyone know why my MSI afterburner settings don't stay? I set my memory clock to 685 mhz (the lowest on the slider) but it still jumps to 1375 mhz whenever my GPU goes on full load. Typically, it's at 150 mhz, so I assume there's some kind of mechanism that lowers the clock automatically when I'm not using the GPU. Does anyone know what would do this and how I can disable it?
You need to enable Unofficial Overclocking mode (google it). There's another bug where it won't let you set the clocks as low as you should be able to. You can apparently fix it by uninstall the application, installing it, redoing the tweak to enable unofficial OCing mode, and only then launching the application.
by the way i'm still willing to buy any BTC you guys have, if anyone wants to cash out
by the way i'm still willing to buy any BTC you guys have, if anyone wants to cash out
Are you going to be buying BTC on a long term? And do you use it to trade online? If so send me a message and we could talk a bit on skype.

Is deepbit a good pool?
It's a large pool, which means lower risks compared to BTC Guild, Slush, or Bitclockers, but also a reduced chance for benefits from lucky blocks.
It's a large pool, which means lower risks compared to BTC Guild, Slush, or Bitclockers, but also a reduced chance for benefits from lucky blocks.
What do you mean by Benefits?
How low are bitcoins gonna drop? down to 13 now.

Or just make a temporary cardboard side with a hole for the fan.
Make a hole in the side of your case, right where the GFX cards are. Or just make a temporary cardboard side with a hole for the fan.
I've tried couple of places. Got it to drop to ~80°C. Still not enough for me. :v: edit: 74°C at the moment, but it's already midnight and my window is open. 12°C outside. Can't leave it running during the day. [editline]18th June 2011[/editline] Oh and clocked it to only 680MHz
How low are bitcoins gonna drop? down to 13 now.
Seems to be making a comeback RIGHT when I put my bitcoin up for sale. Luckily, I made it really high ($19) so in case it does come up again I'm set. [editline]17th June 2011[/editline] Yeah it went from 13 to 15 in like 3 minutes. [editline]17th June 2011[/editline] I'm actually debating making it higher. [editline]17th June 2011[/editline] Holy shit I don't know how to work this thing.
price is skyrocketing yeah baby
I didn't bother to set up a dwolla account till yesterday, and holy shit its taking forever for them to send the verification pennies to my account. I'm missing out on buying while its cheap.
get ready to wait a week or longer for everything to be set up shit sucks
I didn't bother to set up a dwolla account till yesterday, and holy shit its taking forever for them to send the verification pennies to my account. I'm missing out on buying while its cheap.
Meh, I verified 4-5 days ago. Sent $60 to them immediately, and I STILL haven't had my Dwollas added to my account yet. I work all day tomorrow. Pretty sure I'm going to miss the boat on this one.
So with Mt. Gox you can keep everything you trade on your account there, so that you can sell BitCoins while the price is high and then buy BitCoins back with the money on the account without the need for putting the money into a bank account or that dwollas shit?
yes
Anyone care to explain to me how mining bitcoins doesn't inflate the bitcoin economy?
Anyone care to explain to me how mining bitcoins doesn't inflate the bitcoin economy?
they get harder to mine, it actually deflates
they get harder to mine, it actually deflates
Ah, that makes sense. [editline]18th June 2011[/editline] also, free bitcoins; http://freebitcoins.appspot.com/
