I'm on my laptop at the moment which is only a GeForce Nvidia GT 425M with Cuda... Anyone have any suggestions on helping me maximize my khash/s ? I am currently getting around 13,000.

A block contains transaction history, a random number, and an SHA-256 hash of the last block. You could theoretically generate blocks yourself, but that would take a while (with a radeon hd 5770 that is dedicated to mining, it would take anywhere from 107 days to 430 days). Mining takes a number of computers and consolidates their efforts to finding blocks. The amount per block is split between the people in the mining pool, providing a lower amount but more frequent cash-in of bitcoins. Any more confused?

I don't get it, how are these stored?

Even on the ATI4xxx series graphics cards you get at least 10x the Mhash/s.
