Sucks that Mt. Gox doesn't work for me now that the price is so fluctuating.
Wouldn't it be possible to deflate the bitcoin economy if you have several thousand bitcoins, then your hard drive failed? Wont this become a problem in a few years?
Can't believe I missed $0.01/BTC...
Selling half my 14 BTC as soon as possible in case it happens again.
good luck trying to get to gox at all, it's under attack
The website is down, yes?

Yes
The bitcoin will be back to around 17.5$/BTC after we rollback all trades that have happened after the huge Bitcoin sale that happened on June 20th near 3:00am (JST).
Service should be back by June 20th 10:00am (JST, 01:00am GMT) with all the trades reversed and accounts available.
One account with a lot of coins was compromised and whoever stole it (using a HK based IP to login) first sold all the coins in there, to buy those again just after, and then tried to withdraw the coins. The $1000/day withdraw limit was active for this account and the hacker could only get out with $1000 worth of coins.
Apart from this no account was compromised, and nothing was lost. Due to the large impact this had on the Bitcoin market, we will rollback every trade which happened since the big sale, and ensure this account is secure before opening access again.
this is information posted on the mtgox support area
so it looks like everything will roll back to normal in several hours, crazy
Too bad my english isn't good enough to do all the stockmarketing-mumbo-jumbo - it looks so promising :saddowns:

Hey, I'll buy your bitcoins too D:
Every time I try to run bitcoin, I get the error "error loading blkindex.dat". Help?
Uhh
Worst time to jump in on the bitcoin today huh
Oh great, mtgox hacked.
I was reading that lowering the 5770 memory click would increase the Mhash/s but I'm seeing no difference, anybody else tried it?
EDIT:
Never mind I tried a different program to clock, managed to increase my Mhash/s by 35
Are the transactions that we participate in confirming bitcoin transactions? Or of another currency?
Yes, as bitcoin transactions are made, they must be confirmed by hashing the public keys of the two people in the transaction along with the previous block's hash or something of the sort. If you read the technical paper, it explains exactly how the calculations are done:

[editline]19th June 2011[/editline]
price just PLUMMETED to 14.5 and still dropping
buy buy buy buy
edit: down to 13!
WOW what the FUCK dwolla I put cash into 5 FUCKING DAYS AGO why are you still "pending"
Dwolla is the most worthless money transfer website out there, no wonder they are so cheap. They say they are "just as fast as anywhere else" but jesus fuck paypal takes about 1-2 days max to process a deposit when dwolla takes almost a week.
Shame paypal hates BTC
[editline]19th June 2011[/editline]
Oh wait neverminid it was just a hacked account and all the trades are apparently being reversed today
