anyone experiment with a ps3 running linux yet?
People have. 21MHash/s.
I'd suggest a smaller pool.
What pool do you recommend with GUIMiner
Have you heard the story about the moderator in late '09 who traded 10k coins for a couple pizzas when they were worth nothing?
Wow, that's somewhere in the neighborhood of about 200k. Better have been some damn good pizzas
What pool do you recommend with GUIMiner
bitcoinpool because I could actually sign up there.
What pool do you recommend with GUIMiner
Doesn't matter what miner you use, but bitclockers.com probably has 1/10 of slush's pool if that.

Two deep dish I think.
Already made 0.003 at Slush's pool, but I got a starter 0.02 from some survey bitcoin site for free. Hell yeah, $0.62

Was it that cellphone one?
yay .02 BTC that's like 46 cents
Every group that solves one gets the worth of one block, or 50 bitcoins. 1 bitcoin is about 25USD. if somebody solves it themselves (not likely to happen though) they get approx $1,250.
No, I meant "Where the hell are these problems coming from, and why is the place they're coming from printing money?"
Joined BitClockers and started fresh from there. 130mhashs/s
gon be gud
ok this question is super retarded but if i shut down my PC is there a risk of not being paid for a certain amount of mining progress?
i cant sleep with my pc running at night
Why is BitClockers telling my my mhashes/s is 0
No, I meant "Where the hell are these problems coming from?"
It's an algorithm derived from the number of blocks created before this block and the difficulty which is exponentially increased based on the number of blocks..
No, I meant "Where the hell are these problems coming from, and why is the place they're coming from printing money?"
I'm not sure what you mean, they don't print money, it's purely virtual and dynamic.
Was it that cellphone one?
I think, not sure. I think it was just an instant payout one.
I'm on BTCGuild, don't know if it's any good, but my estimated reward is only 0.00683632 atm.
Why is BitClockers telling my my mhashes/s is 0
It does 15m polls and it's pretty inaccurate.
Isn't the whole process like solving a puzzle and getting paid for it?

Ah.
Thank you!
Isn't the whole process like solving a puzzle and getting paid for it?
Brute forcing, but yeah.

Same, after we get a decent estimate reward, what's the next step with BTCGuild?

Get a payout, put it in your wallet, and then spend it.
Get a payout, put it in your wallet, and then spend it.
How do I get a payout exactly? (I feel dumb for asking but I have no idea)
How do I get a payout exactly? (I feel dumb for asking but I have no idea)
A website like MtGox which trades BTC for $, or just use the BTC as a currency at places that accept it.
[editline]10th June 2011[/editline]
You could also give some BTC to me for being so wonderful.
So basically you can get money from killing your GPU? I shall try it.

And I need to wait for BTCGuild to confirm the BTCs, right?
I'm still not sure what "unconfirmed earnings" means on bitcoinpool. I'm wondering if it means that I'll get it if I stop mining for a little while, or if it's just garbage.

Or CPU if you're retarded/somehow have no GPU.

Once they finish the block, they get the payout and then they distribute it to your Guild account. Then you request a payout using their website. Yeah.
Some pools require you to have a minimum buy-in to get a pay out. BitClockers requires you to have mined 0.1BTC before you can pull your cash out.

I've got a 480. I thought this would be a big joke at first, but you can actually get money? How mouch would one get from this? :q:

100MHashes/s. Though, it's impossible to calculate your monetary profit through hardware specs alone, It's basically generating random numbers so there's a bit of luck to it.
