Pepper;32910085']wow, this is still alive?
I doubt it will fully die for a long while. It has got applications where it is useful, granted most are in the black market but that doesn't make them non existant.
Wait can you make REAL money off of this?
no they send you monopoly money instead
Wait can you make REAL money off of this?
No, this currency is worth nothing.
No, this currency is worth nothing.
People have said this since the thread began and yet I've bought Diablo 2, a bunch of posters, and Mafia 2 with Bitcoin. Clearly if I can buy those things, it isn't worthless.
Alright, im new to this, I followed the OP as best as i could, and as soon as i try mining, it gives me an error:
ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified module could not by found.
What does this mean?
oh shit i used to get that, totally forgot how to fix it though. if i remember i'll send you a message

As of this moment it is worthless as a do nothing to get something scheme. The likelihood of it recovering is so small that it is just better to pull out now while you can.

It will recover. Also, I really don't understand the people calling it "worthless" it is obviously not going to stay at 30 dollars like it was for a while, but it is mind you worth double as much as a dollar so yes, while it is obviously lower than before it is nowhere near worthless.
BTC will recover. When BTC came, the value was fucking low. And now? It was pretty high this year.
It will increase. It might not happen this month but it will in a longer period.

Yes, the only people this has scared away is the "get rich quick" people who thought they could just get rich on bitcoin. The people who actually *use* the thing will keep on using it and the value will increase gently.
To make money you have to be calculated and precise, (not to brag but) like me
:>
i haven't run a miner in ages, i should probably hop on again for a little bit, i've got 0.56 BTC as it is

So about one dollar.
Now where'd i put my HD5750.

It's a joke, because he seemed surprised that a currency was worth something.
So about one dollar.
uh yeah
hence the point of me running a miner?
uh yeah

The whole point of using a GPU miner was to have the whole thing balance out where the cost of the rig plus the amount of power needed to run it would even out with the number of BTC you generate. That is impossible now and the only real use at this moment is as a currency that hardly anyone takes and changes extremely quickly.
If the coin does not recover then its all over and it would be too late to try to cash out.
Interesting, Im going to try this out. I setup bitcoin for solo mining with my Juniper XT. Apparently bitcoin is downloading blocks, not sure what to do now other then wait.
oh wow GUIminer could not connect RPC something, fuck it I give up :V
Once, BTC was worth like only cents.
A guy changed 10 000 BTC for a pizza.
That is why I believe that BTC is not dead and will recover.
I'm tempted to invest about £50 into btc at the moment, since I doubt it will die completely, and will probably increase.

Yeah, I remember when a BTC was worth 0.003 cents...
I also remember a guy calling us "fags" for wasting our electricity "for worthless little virtual coins"

Do it. Also, awesome avatar.
I'd be careful with investing anything, recently all EU transfer methods were shut down due to MTGOX's court ruling in france. All it takes is one bank to challange them in USA and they've pretty much killed the currency as there's little point to it if you can't buy or sell them.
I will proabably sink about £20 into bitcoins. Im sure it will recover.
Is it okay if I attempt to revive this. I don't see another bitcoin related thread.
Go for it dude, I still scrounge up coins when I can.
I'm still running the GPU miner on my GTS250 once in a blue moon.
30Mhash/s is all i get though.
Gonna see what kind of performance I'll get on a quad sli 590. Though I'm not really going to take Bitcoin seriously, but might as well have some fun.
Wow so much negativity
Prices of stuff will go up and down, it happens - Bitcoin is no exception because it's backed by real 'stuff' so to speak. It will follow the price trends, and it will go back up. Of course it will never die, people will always buy bitcoins directly and perhaps use them to make untraceable purchases - as long as there is a use for them (which there is) they'll hang around
As for when the price will go back up? who knows. Might as well hang on to your bitcoins though, because they might be worth something before you forget about them
i have an e6750, what would that get me per month approximately?
i have an e6750, what would that get me per month approximately?
Negligible, not worth mining on CPUs and yours is no exception
My GTS250 gets like, 30MHash/sec and that's utter crap.
Your CPU would be lucky to get 6
