I want to restart bitcoin mining, but I dont really like running my GPU at 99% and letting the temps get up to 80 Degrees. Is there any way to limit the GPU usage for a particular process?

Is there anyone who would be willing to trade BTC for PayPal? .. I need 10 BTC, and I think currently the BTC rate is 5USD to 1BTC
Trying to mine with two nvidia cards. The noise. It's killing me. :suicide:
My laptop mines faster than my desktop despite my desktop being stronger than my laptop :( Any help on this perhaps? I need me some bitcoins. Also, anyone here might have about 25 bitcoins? Name your price, I have about 73~ dollars

Also if your laptop is faster than your desktop you're probably wasting your time completely with both.
Hey guys, I got a ati HD 5970 and I was wondering if it's worth mining with, problem is it's also my main gaming rig...
Might be, go try!
Apperantly i'm supposed to get around 704Mhash/s on my card, but i'm only getting 300~ even with the flags, i'm using guiminer by the way...
Are you sure that it is running on both GPU-s instead of one?

Slight feeling that the Bitcoin market will be dead soon. Most of the people mining are just the huge mine operators with mining rigs or botnet owners.
Yeah, used cgminer instead and got around 550 Mhash, but it's not worth it is it? I mined for an hour and a half and only got 0.01 BTC, seeing as how a bitcoin is around 4 USD I don't think it's worth putting the extra strain on my pc and rendering it pretty much unusable while mining just for a few cents/dollars.... sucks though.
Slight feeling that the Bitcoin market will be dead soon.
For average Joe miners? yeah.
Slight feeling that the Bitcoin market will be dead soon. Sure the pool owners have quite a lot of power regarding standards and transactions which get put into blocks but if they shut their pools down then new ones would just pop up. The market wouldn't really die anyway it'd shut down off slowly with people leaving it until it was just a hardcore bunch of believers and then probably just hit near dormant. Since the OP is removed, how should I begin with this and how much USD would you make per hour of mining on average?
Since the OP is removed, how should I begin with this and how much USD would you make per hour of mining on average?
By reading instead of being lazy. Go to bitcointalk.org it's a forum all about bitcoin funnily if you actually care you can find out there but there's little point as it's not likely to be profitable without having established computers purely for this.
Seems like price for bitcoins is on the rise again. Mtgox is at just over 11$ now, and I have 5 BTC  Too bad steamcoin is down...
So, what's a good pool to mine in?
When the Bitcoin was around $2-3, I bought myself 10 and totally forgot about it. Now to wait or sell right now...
So, what's a good pool to mine in?
trick question, there are no good pools to mine in.
So, what's a good pool to mine in?
Slush's pool is okay (mining.bitcoin.cz). It's the only pool I've mined for though. The reason I picked it is pretty much because it was the default one in GUIminer :v:
Ill host a pool/server thing on my server. Im new to this though... Anyone wana join me? I have an AMD FX (yeah yeah I know) and a Radeon 6870 (Having trouble getting opencl support...) and the pc runs 24/7... If I dont make sense please correct me. This confuses me.
Honestly, mining with GPUs stopped being worth it 2 years ago. Now you need a proper FPGA board to get a decent MHs/$
the people making profit off of mining are not going to be the people that are actually mining, but the people selling mining rigs. it's the gold rush all over again
Will mining work for my desktop, it is using Intel HD Graphics, probably not
Will mining work for my desktop, it is using Intel HD Graphics, probably not
You can do it, but it would be mining on the CPU which would be ridiculously slow.
Pepper;37250790']You can do it, but it would be mining on the CPU which would be ridiculously slow.
The HD3000/4000 are as a part of the CPU. 1/3 is the IGP and the 2/3-s are for the CPU-s cores and whatnot or something like that. It wouldn't be quite CPU mining, but you would get kind of the same performance.
I'm not good with bitcoins so I want to ask here, is there any way, doesn't matter how long winded that I can buy bitcoins with tangable money, I could buy something with tangable money then convert it online or something
