Is this really going to shortnen the life of my gpu? it's at 66C with 96% activity (5870)
It shouldn't. At least, not until you make enough to buy a better one.
if anyone is looking for a way to get USD into your bank account from a BTC converter i can say that dwolla is a good way to do it, just enter some numbers from one of your checks and they digitally send your cash to your bank account
By the way guys, if you're experienced with overclocking you can raise your MHash/s rate by lowing your memory clock. Around 500-300mhz yields the best.
I made a makeshift cooler with my desktop fan and put it next to the case. 91c -> 84c

I'm running at 600mhz because 500mhz is a bit unstable for me.

What card are you using?
So i'm all up in this shit now, 101Mhash/s, 23 shares. Is it any good?
Should i create an account somewhere else too than btcguild? I have too many questions :buddy:
What card are you using?
There's no need to make another account. 101MHash/s is pretty decent.

Are you OCing with Catalyst?

101Mhash/s is better than most Nvidia cards I see, and why not create an account over at bitcoinpool.com? It's pretty cool over there except that they won't accept my email address which blows.
But for example this "Wallet" field, what should i put there?

I was overclocking with MSI afterburn

Nothing. Don't try putting "10000000000" because that doesn't work.

$1000.... wow.
how long does it take to crack a block?

Try turning off the safety and see if you can stay stable with 500mhz.

At least since last July.

Generate an account with the actual Bitcoin client, put it there.

yeah that's what i thought, thanks.
Been on this round for an hour, tired of refreshing to see if my .026 BTC are finalized.

No real set time. It's like brute forcing, someone somewhere is going to eventually get it.
Been on this round for an hour, tired of refreshing to see if my .026 BTC are finalized.
It will take a couple of days to finalize. The pool has to actually crack the block first.
I'm too scared to leave my pc alone now, it might burst into flames :ohdear:
And that poclbm.exe takes up 25% of my cpu.
Gah somebody in my pool has cracked 49 blocks, the lucky bastard.

Try to find a client that uses phatk as its kernel. poclbm uses way too much CPU.

only about a day last july
Been running this on and off since last night. Getting a fairly constant 375-380 Mhash/s with my 5870.

What flags are you using on your client?

I honestly don't know anything about this, anything you can recommend?
