Wow, those glowy, ricer POSs? Why would someone buy one of those?
You mean that OCZ PSU? OCZ PSUs aren't prone to failure.
This is a bit late, but I based that off of the reviews. I skimmed through them, and practically every other one was complaining about it going out with a flood of noxious fumes after only a few months.
Sorry Ferrus, I wanted to go by combos. That ram isn't crap either, in fact, 1066 -> 1600 won't improve FPS by much. Loading speeds, maybe, but not terribly so.
Get Ferrus' ram, and then get an HD5850 ASUS CuCore edition. Learn to overclock it. You will beat an HD5870.
I'd rather not overclock. I am new to this and fear that overclocking will over heat the card, or it will break faster than without overclocking.
Four things about an HD5850 CuCore
A: In an Antec 900, you will not break 80c.
B: OC'ing does not wear the life-span.
C: It's extremely easy.
D: A,B,C

Okay. A tutorial on overclocking would be nice.

Also, on Newegg, the CuCore 5850s have all been deactivated and are not selling.
[editline]07:38PM[/editline]
Also, I would have to crossfire the CuCore anyways because I can't run a dual monitor set up on it.

Only CuCore products that are in stock by Asus are the 5770 and the 4850. Perhaps 2 5770 overclocked?
Overclocking can lower the lifespan of components if certain precautions are not taken, such as adequate cooling and exercising some common sense when fiddling with voltages.
Not really...video cards can run at over 100c easy. GTX480s run at over 85c. And the warranty of manufacturers are usually around 3 years. And like I said, proper case, even with high voltages, the HD5850 Cucore has very nice temps.
Which will get me a better framerate on high settings in BC2? A single 5850, or Crossfired 5770's?
Crossfired HD5770s. They perform akin to an HD5870, but it has the advantage of being a single card.
Remember though, Crossfired HD5850s are the high-end sweetspot in terms of price/performance..especially if you get CuCore editions.

You can sure as hell shorten the life cycle of a processor if you crank up the voltage without sufficient cooling. Yes video cards can take a lot of heat, but 100C is way too high for an ever day temperature and it would definitely degrade faster if you ran it at those temperatures for long periods.
Processors are a whole 'nuther story. And yes I know 100c is too hot, but 4870x2s run at that speed just fine. I know it isn't healthy, but it certainly won't make your card die noticeably faster.

what
You mean temp right?

I think I will stick with 5850, but that puts me just under $100 more than my budget. I'll upgrade to a crossfire setup when I get the money.

Woops, yep.
Here's what the build is at now:

I was wondering if I should do dual 5770's, which manufacturer should I get it from.

2 of those, will that work out with the PSU?
Get this RAM:

You can use a Corsair 500Watt if you want. Unless you plan on crossfire.
