This is a "What Windows are you using" thread, not a "VMs rock/suck thread".
its relevant because VM's can have Windows.
The USE of VMs is relevant, not whether VMs are good/bad ideas.

Just curious, but why would you fake an SP? Why not just install the real thing?
Windows XP Professional.
I also installed Xubuntu, which is now my primary OS. I only use windows cuz I don't have time to set up this printer.
Vista x86.
I'll upgrade to W7 x64 and toss in another 2GB of memory someday. I'm just putting off the OS upgrade because I'll have to reformat.
xp sp3
I'm using Windows 7 x64.

Maybe he doesn't want to install SP3. I don't think Rockstar should be able to force people into installing this or that when it's not needed :o

I seriously hope you're joking.
A service pack is meant to increase performance, patch security holes, and as is apparently the case with GTA4 provide compatibility with programs.
That's like using IE 4 with the first version of AVG as your antivirus.
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate RTM-7600, and running 8 instances of Custom Windows XP Professional as virtual machines in VMware.

besides, its easy to add mediacenter to any xp installation.
...provided you know what you're doing, not just knowing what you want to do.

Media Center 2005 in retrospect is a joke. Then again I think due to the lack of add-ons and what not MC itself is pretty meh. I would love for official Hulu integration for example.
