I can't stand talking to computer illiterate people about computers.

I wish I had very many good stories, but nobody in my life is that computer literate to know enough to be able to argue... :D Kinda ironic
Sorry fort the bump, you guys, but I have a story to tell. Someone I know has got a new PC, with a 4850, 22" monitor, all the trimmings. I had the chance to use his computer a few weeks ago, and I noticed that ALL of his games were set to 1024x768. That's a 4:3 resolution, and he has a 16:10 monitor, which has a native resolution of 1680x1050. I set some games tom 1680 to show him how nice it was, but now, a few weeks later, he outright refuses to change his res, depite it being beneficial to his gaming. He is part of one of the groups of people I hate, people who always think they're right despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. THe people I hate most, are uninformed console pricks who think they know everything about the PC, and how it supposedly 'sucks, and will not budge on their misguided opinion, despite my reasons crushing theirs and my IQ being twice as large. (These people are really, really stupid, I don't doubt that that is true) Just thought you might want to hear this tale of not computer illiteracy, but computer stubbornness, the worst kind of illiteracy.
Well if you hate me, then we have no reason to keep in commune! Good day Sir!
Some kid in band started talking about how he had 6gigs of ram. I lulled on the inside knowing 6 is overkill and useless, for him anyways.

Erm, I don't hate you, I'm just saying that having your res at 1024x768 is a complete waste when you have a 1680x1050 monitor, and, for being very stubborn about changing it, you are also arguing against making your gaming experience better, which I find retarded. YOU SEE, THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS.
Haha, that was funny. But seriously people like that piss me off too.
I will change them, when and if I get round to playing the specific games involved. For the moment, I am playing newer games (all of which you hate) at 1680x1050!
People at my school know reasonably well about my computer usage, but it gets annoying when they try to sell me a graphics card like a Radeon 8500 or something. My computer's 2 years old as it is and it's fine with a 8800GTS.
Tedfinly nearly all games released in the recent years support 1680x1050 as so many monitors are widescreen now. If you're playing on an LCD screen I really recommend changing since the scaling would look horrible.

Well excuuuuse me, but you've been playing Supreme Commander for the past few days and haven't changed the resolution.
I can't stand that none of my friends know anything about computers. One time I mentioned to my friend you have to right click something and she asked what a right click was.
I'm sorry? past few weeks? I only started playing it again the other day ACTUALLY. Get your facts straight, and I am starting to get a little worried that you're stalking me because you know so much...

Weeks, days, no matter. What actually matters is that you've had plenty of time to change the damn resolution, and haven't. You must be pretty stupid if you've forgotten about what I said that quickly. Can't you see the damn difference? It looks wierd!
Also, I lol'd when you couldn't figure out how to turn Aero on.
I have a better version of Aero, I don't need it... And I never did like the Vista menus and stuff anyway. I haven't forgotten what you said, I changed most of my games - just not the ones I haven't played. I was too busy playing the game to worry about resolutions! (Unlike some people)
Any butter?
Lemme go get some.

Haha, custom theme when you could've just used normal Aero. And I'm only saying change your res because it makes the games look better and only takes a second, plus the whole thing just seems ridiculous. I mean, 1024x768 is bad enough on a 17" 4:3 monitor, so what about a 1680x1050 22" 16:10 monitor?
Then there are the people who are like wow man your such a freaking genius.

By the way, the only reason you downloaded that custom theme was that you couldn't figure out how to use Aero. Get your facts right.
Such a hypocrite, no compromising with you!
And the only reason I downloaded it was because it looks nicer in my opinion, it's quite different.
Such a hypocrite, no compromising with you!
No he's not. He knows that he's talking about.
Oh and I got the butter.
Such a hypocrite, no compromising with you!
I'm sorry, what? There is no compromising on this subject because you should've done it anyway. And how can you compromise on a resolution? It's not something that should require arguing, it's something that should be responded to with Options>Graphics>Resolution. Click, click, boom. Better looking games all round. Once again, I re-iterate the poor resizing abilities of LCD screens, and the completely different aspect ratio. Stretching a square into a rectangle does not a good image make.

Yeah, you like the horrible silver Orb, and I respect that, however you did download a custom theme because you couldn't enable aero, I remember telling you how to do it, I think, while using an XP machine, might I add. Furthermore, the matter at hand is resolutions, and how yours is retarded.
Well I'm more interested in the content of the game. I have corrected the resolution as per your instructions... Happy now? I'm so fed up with you, wish I had never met you in that alley now!

Very good, grasshopper.
Now please, for the love of god, try to do that in the future.
