Umm, isn't the mentor meant to be the Grasshopper rather than the student?

Pretty sure it's this way. Pretty damn sure.
It is.
I don't mind talking to computer illiterate people, if they can actually listen and admit they don't actually know something. I hate it when they go on and on thinking they are right no matter what you say.
Also console fanboys/retards who think they know stuff about PC's, when they actually know next to nothing.
Same thing happened to me just a few days ago.
Our class has a bunch of Macs connected to eachother so you don't need to be at a particular computer to sign in.
Well, someone tried to sign in to an account thats already active. Apparently, this caused a crash for everyone.
Now everyone know him as a super l33t hacker with massive computer skillz (I quote)
A girl in my class brought a Mac because of the PhotoBooth. She had fun with it for a day, But since she knows shit about Macs, she went to buy Windows. She couldn't install it. Now she don't use the computer anymore, I guess because she can't figure out how to use it.
That is the most retarded thing that I've ever experinced, especially because she don't want any help.
I mean, Macs are the most beginner friendly machines that exist. The computers are stuffed with video tutorials, HOW CAN YOU GO SO WRONG.
One of my friends keep ignoring my warnings about Limewire.
He says that if theres a virus in one of the things he downloads, Norton will stop it anyways, since it has done it one time before...
God he's annoying some times...
Just punch em'.
Just punch em'.
I'm a computer literate (atleast a little), I don't know how to punch.
I'm a computer literate (atleast a little), I don't know how to punch.
1. Place yourself infront of target
2. Streach your arm, very fast towards him
3. Make your fist contact his head with a high velocity
4. Punch completed.
5. Now you can do the same with the other arm, remember to pull the arm back in order to "reload"
When parents try and get your help with something, you explain whats wrong, and that it cant be fixed and they pretend to understand, and then 5 minutes later they are asking you why it hasnt been fixed yet.
I had a conversation with my friends friends friend of GTA IV
Me: I got GTA IV
Friends friends friend: Is it good?
Me: Yah.
FFF: I think that I'm gonna get it too.
Me: Do you think that your computer specs is good?
FFF: Specs what?
Me: You know the parts and stuff
FFF: Oh yeah it should run it has a DVD drive and XP so It should run :)
Me: /facepalm
He later bought the game and it didn't run on his computer

It's like this kid who thinks he knows about Computers in my class. He actually thinks the BIOS is an Operating System like Win XP or Vista.
My friend just installed Anti-virus 2009 because he thought it would speed up his computer. Now I'm walking him through deleting it right now.
My doctors office has 1600x1200 monitors.
Running at 800x600
The start button is the size of an oreo.

Isn't it a small chip somewhere on the motherboard?
Really imbaressing that I've forgot where the bios is located, as it was the first thing I learned about.
I don't have a problem with computer-illiterate people, I just can't stand the people who know little to nothing about computer hardware and act like they know a lot.
I told this guy that I'll probably get a Radeon HD 4870 soon, and he goes: "Lol that one sux i have 7800 and i can run all games".
He doesn't realize that there's more than one company that makes video-cards, and that they have different model numbers.
Same goes for people who modify stuff on their PC thinking they know what they're doing. But, they don't.
Before my friend knew I knew shit about computers, he asked me where to download RAM, I facepalmed so hard I think there's still a mark

Show your friend this.
4870 > 7800
I also hope he does not think > is pointing at the 7800 like an arrow.

I once tried to install a PCI card into the old style slot.
I once tried to install a PCI card into the old style slot.
Old-Style? You mean ISA? lol.
AGP. What the fuck is ISA?
AGP. What the fuck is ISA?
ISA is what came before PCI.
ISA -> PCI -> AGP -> PCI Express

"u cant hack nuthin i got norton"
but, on topic, i really cant stand it when people refuse to differentiate between ram and hard drive space.
typical conversation between me and my friend:
him: "how much memory you have?"
me: "4 gb"
him: "lol my 2007(yes he judges by year)has 350!"
me: "that's HDD size"
him: "what you don't know anything about computers!"
and then a few days later he asked me to fix his laptop...
and he also thinks that macs inherently don't get viruses.
I actually was spreading word around school today that I was selling my computer...
Me: Anyone interested in buying a computer?
*Draws a few peoples' attention*
Other Student: How much?
Me: $1,500
*GROUP SHOCK*
Them: WHAT THE FUUUUU? IS IT LIKE AN ALIEN COMPUTER OR SOMETHING?
Today I was talking to some guy and the subject of computers came up. He showed me a computer he wanted to get (prebuilt ) and he mentioned something along the lines of "It's pretty awesome, it's got 70 gigs of memory". I suppressed my rage and told him the difference between memory and hard drive capacity, then told him that 70GB is hardly anything. I then jokingly mentioned getting a bunch of 1TB hard drives and running them in RAID and he says "Terabytes computers are like $1,000 though and the only ones that exist are government computers". I rage quietly and explain how wrong he was. Like many computer illiterate people, he ignored me.
