I love watching you guys tear the shit out of each other on trivial topics.
2) They think they know it all but they really don't
This. I don't mind general computer illiteracy because I can't be arsed to learn all about something like sports because I don't give a damn. It's when people get the wrong grasp of something or are just plain making shit up then go around spreading it to others and refuse to believe anything else when I see a problem.
Or those people who say; Them: Yeah? How many Megahertz do you have? Me: What? In what? Them: You know, like how big? Me: What the fuck are you talking about? Them: I have like 500Megahertz, I can download a movie in two seconds. Me: :bang:

is it wrong that I like to mess with people when they start to spew terminology thinking that it makes them right? like if someone acts like they know what they're talking about, but I can tell they don't, ill ask them something false and see if they answer.
My god there are about 30 people that I know that are like that, Luckily my friend Knows me well enough to know I would never get a new pc like that and then laugh at it... on the other hand my not so much friend (O.K. I'm just gonna say it, He's a complete and utter man whore who doesen't know jack shit and will live in a cardboard box when he's 17 because he moved out of his house and left school) who um... "Installed" 5 Disc drives in his old pc (He just stuck them in and not plugged them in at all and couldn't figure out what the problem was) quoted "My PC has 16 Gerra (Terra) Bytes of Rom (He men't ram, he tries to impress everyone buy as well as making up words using his words in sentances randomly) so when I wen't over to his house (was acting as a friend just to check his specs) I found it his pc had windows 2000 installed and only has (this was his one that has 16 gerrabytes of rom) 256mb of ram, a 30 gb HDD and a shitty old Geforce 5600 FX. Funny.
Them: Yeah? How many Megahertz do you have? Me: What? In what? Them: You know, like how big? Me: What the fuck are you talking about? Them: I have like 500Megahertz, I can download a movie in two seconds.
What. the fuck. That makes no sense at all and never will I would just literally turn to the wall and hit my head on it then they'd say Them: Yeah Mine rules! Keep doing that because you'res sucks! Then I would have a reason to punch them. I've done it before It really works well.
I HATTEEEEE (RRRRRRRAAAAGGGGGEEEEEEHHHHHHH :ssj:) people who write 1.395 GB, then what's the fucking point in writing it in GB anyways?! http://www.edbpriser.dk/Products/Listprices.asp?ID=505692&searchArea=&Soegeord= GTX295, 1792MB http://www.edbpriser.dk/Products/Listprices.asp?ID=490145&searchArea=&Soegeord= Exact same, except they write it as 1.792GB FUCKING STOP IT ARGH it's pointless and makes you look stupid. Same goes to salesmen who says "D'uh, this processor has 2 point 400 GHz", then what's the frickin point?
I don't agree people should learn or have to learn the technology because it's commonplace. Understandably, computer literate folk show some degree of disdain when dealing with lesser literate types, although there are plenty of daily things that I use that I'm completely ignorant about.
.... I was going to make this exact same post, pretty much. I don't get pissed off by computer illiterate people, only when they're rude. I was talking to my friend's brother, whose school's sixth form was apparently making an MMO. He said stuff about them getting certain privileges since they were at the same school, and I asked him a couple of questions. Eventually I asked him "do you know what language they are making it in?" He goes "hurr, English, what do you think?"
I recently had someone contact me because their system. is running sluggish, apparently deleting all your emails from WLM Mail fixes the system. :downs:
well, here in our school, people just discovered RAM...
well, one guy in my class got an laptop with a processor stronger than the intel core i7... sure.. 2.1 GHz x 2 is insane..
I hate it when people who get "memory" and "hard disk space" mixed up, as well as "download" and "install."
Coincidentily those are the only ones I can still tolerate.
lol. my grandmother one day asked me if i were hacking pentagon or something when i checked my effin' email..
I hate people who think 'file' is the same as 'account'
Well, at least you're a literate. :D Hertz is a measure of frequency. Frequency, how Wikipedia puts it, "is the number of occurrences of a repeating event per unit time." For example, bouncing a ball contiounusly has a frequency of some sort. The frequency at which a processor operates is called a clock rate, which is typically measured in Hertz. Todays processors are clocked at in intervals of GHz - which is 1,000,000,000 (1 Billion) Hertz. CRT Monitors (which you probably have, am I right) work by constantly redrawing the data the computer gives it. The speed...or well, frequency at the monitor redraws is called the Refresh rate. Being as it is a frequency, it is measured in Hertz, which explains why that is on your settings :P Lower Refresh rate frequencies, I believe, uses less energy but cause a noticable flickering effect because it dosen't redraw the image nearly as quick. Higher Refresh rates use more power, but removes the flickering problem. Typically your monitor should be at...60-70 Hz, I believe. I hope I didn't lose you, I tried my best in explaining it :P I at least hope some sense out of it...
sorry im replying so late. xD yes that did help. ty very much
Her: LOL! Her: sorry, but i gotta get off the cpu Her: my dad's being a pain =/ Her: ttyl!
Not you guys. The people who buy from dell never need 500 GB. My mom's had her dell with a 40 GB hard drive for 4 years, and she's never had to delete anything.
Haha I used to watch what I downloaded every day because I had a 40GB hard drive. I have a 500GB internal and External harddrive. Right now I don't use the external but the internal has 150GB left. And it's a Dell. Flawed logic
Happened on Skype. But she is a nice person though. Edit: Also I couldn't find the other thread. So this was all I could find. Sorry for the bump, but content.
What if she really was on it?
Yes. This. Is EXTREMELY annoying to me! For example, my uncle bought an computer. Specs in it: Nvidia Geforce 8800GTX Dual core 2.4 GHZ 800GB harddrive 4 GB ram Windows Vista. .. Guess what he does? HE PLAYS CHESS OVER INTERNET WITH IT! WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THAT SHIT!?
Crysis Chess son.
What if she really was on it?
Well if she was sitting in the right area of a laptop...
I remember last year some guy in one of my classes said that the graphics card effects your download speed. He also claimed to install XP on all the computers in the library by "emailing Windows to all the computers and automatically installing it.", a process he claimed took a few minutes. Needless to say he is one of the types of computer illiterates I hate, the kind who pretend to know everything but really know nothing. At least he moved to a different school or died or something. :buddy:
Best Buy You don't want to argue with the support, they wont shut up and then they'll talk about PCs all day. some guy did this and he grabbed my arm when I was exiting the store, good god :crying:
