Pepper;17797528']what so when i finish my work i sit there twiddling my thumbs waiting for that lesson to end?
Yeah, something like that
Or you could have asked if it was ok to play video games.
Pepper;17797528']what so when i finish my work i sit there twiddling my thumbs waiting for that lesson to end?
Yes.
my dad think that the less icon there is on the desktop, the faster the computer is...
my dad think that the less icon there is on the desktop, the faster the computer is...
Your computer needs to load less information during startup the less icons you've got. At least it made quite the difference a few years back, I don't think it's as noticable these days seeing as we've got better hardware.
my dad think that the less icon there is on the desktop, the faster the computer is...
My brother think the PC is faster the more space you got left on the harddrive.

The average wallpaper is much larger than a desktop's worth of icons.

Typical conversation with a friend after he has borrowed a pc game there was no way he could run. Him: That game I borrowed it didn't work. Me: Yeah that's cause your computer is crappy. Him: But your computer can run it. Me: Well, my computer has newer and better hardware then yours. Him: But you can run it... After 5 minutes of explaining it to him. Him: Can't we put it on my X-box then it will run.

I think they're there, just afraid I might get offended if they say something wrong or something. I do often get people asking me about messages that appear on their screen or help with camera media. That's a little annoying, but it's usually my family asking me, so I don't mind.
Fuck that stuff in that site makes me rage.
Especially the stuff they say about Linux. "I heard about this thing called Linux, what is it?" "It's this thing that once it's on your computer you can't turn the computer off." "What operating system do you use?" "Linux, why?" "Oh, you can't connect to the internet on Linux. Besides, it's a hacker tool anyway."
I don't think computer illiterate people are ignorant. I think they are just lazy. You can find out about practically anything on the internet, especially stuff about computers. I learned how to code from the internet. A couple a months ago, I used to be a total hardware noob. After a few days of ready, I was fairly caught up on all the new hardware and such. So the next time someone asks you some retarded computer question, use this site http://lmgtfy.com/ and tell them to figure it out themselves.
I hate being called a "hacker" because I'm good with computers.
Ok, Right now I'm pissed. The "Techies" at my school are complete dicks. I said to them "Hey, Can you sign up the school for Microsoft's DreamSpark? It will benefit many computer "Gifted" (Used that to catch them in) People" "Techie": Yeah, Sure I've heard about it. 1 month later, I go to verify myself on dream spark to get Visual Studio 2008. My Schools not on the list. Me: Uhh, Are you sure you signed up for dreamspark? "Techie": Yeah. Me: Why isn't the school on the list "Techie": Oh that's right, We got Declined Me: Huh? "Techie": Well, you see I couldn't prove we were a school and got the school banned from dreamsparks website Me:*Opens up web browser on computer and navigates to www.dreamspark.com* I see this Banned logo and it gives a reason I hate my school. either way, This place is good :-) http://www.microsoft.com/student/en/us/default.aspx#discounts
"Techie": Well, you see I couldn't prove we were a school and got the school banned from dreamsparks website
:suicide: That's not your average moron, that's practiced stupidty right there. [editline]06:48PM[/editline] Or more likely just laziness.
:suicide: That's not your average moron, that's practiced stupidty right there. [editline]06:48PM[/editline] Or more likely just laziness.
Both. He's a complete fat ass.
The least I can say is AGREED. [editline]04:34PM[/editline]
Because speedy computer = speedy browsing the web. :downs:
and speedy pr0n downloading
Some kids at school were actually having a conversation about how they could make a shark emote on Facebook. One of my friends thinks he MADE an emote, and kids think they are amazing for knowing the robot emote. Jesus Christ. :downs:
I can't stand talking to computer illiterate people about computers.
Just like I can't stand talking to computer literate people about the outside world. I suppose that was a low blow, I'm computer literate and somewhat 'in' with the world..
Just like I can't stand talking to computer literate people about the outside world. My grandfather has a Dell XPS (Can't remember the exact name), and he uses it for photos and web browsing. It runs FEAR 2 maxed out at 1920 x 1200 in 40 fps O.O
World? I'm not familiar with this "world". [editline]01:14AM[/editline] Is it some kind of program?
Nah I think it is part of that "outside" thing. I heard it was horribly optimized.
http://www.rinkworks.com/stupid
Look at this gem I found: * Customer: "What's going to happen to my computer when the year 2000 hits? Will it just not work anymore, or what?" * Tech Support: "Actually, the year 2000 problem is this: it seems most of the computer code up until recently had been written assuming that the first two digits in the year of any date were "19." So basically, some of these applications, when the year 2000 rolls around, will reflect "1900," rather than "2000." Of course, there weren't any computers around in the year 1900, and so your computer will simply disappear."
Marketing is a brilliant thing is it not?
I read in an ad in a magazine not long ago, about a geforce card (200 series) that apparently had 1000 Gigabytes of vram. And i thought the 2GB cards were hardcore.
