I can't stand talking to computer illiterate people about computers.
I read in an ad in a magazine not long ago, about a geforce card (200 series) that apparently had 1000 Gigabytes of vram.
And i thought the 2GB cards were hardcore.
Crysis 4.
Crysis 4.
Or just warhead with 1024x AA @ 3x 22" 2560x1600 screens.
Holy shit!
Nah I think it is part of that "outside" thing.
I heard it was horribly optimized.
Looks fun, but I think I'll get L4D2 instead.

PVP outside sucks. You can only do it once then you have to wait a couple years.
I CAN'T STAND dealing with computer illiterate people. A friend of mine recently bought a $2500 Dell XPS because the power supply died in his old system. That's one of the most easily replaced parts in a computer, and for $50 or less for a machine that only needs 400 watts at most. Besides that, SOURCE games are honestly the most hardware-demanding games on his computer. He has DUAL VIDEO CARDS and honestly, play HL2 on my 3 year old system, it looks as nice as it ever will without the cinematic mods on that piece of shit. Why does he need a $2500 machine?!?!??!?!?!??!?!
What's worse is when I tell someone to go to hotmail.com and they wind up getting an email address @q.com or some shit. There's always when I've taken the IE icon off the desktop and put a Firefox icon in its place, nobody can seem to figure out what Firefox is.

Sounds good, I think that should get their attention nicely >:)
I guess I need to make it as simple as that since "itunes.apple.com" was too hard to go to and the download button to get itunes for their ipod was too hard to find... *facepalm*
Edit:
Now that I think of it, the website IS pretty cluttered... but "THE BIG BLUE BUTTON ON THE RIGHT THAT SAYS DOWNLOAD IN BIG LETTERS ON IT" seems simple enough. Maybe stealing their ipod will make them become an hero. :)

Is this a record for the biggest necro bump ever? Or do we have to revive something from like 2000?

Forums date back to 2005 I think, everything before some time in late 2008 was wiped out/archived, I think. This is about the oldest it can get.
Oh god, this thread
It's like CIPWTTKT Retro edition
Seriously.
Especially with kids at my school unless they know their shit.
Like if I tell someone "Hey I got a new computer", they try to act all smart and say "How much hard drive space does it have? :c00l:".
I then say 300 gigs is all I need, and they go "HAHA, I have 500 gigs!, you got ripped off!"
I can't stand this.
I only need 300 gigs.
Then I ask them about other hardware, like the video card, and they just go "" and I say, I have a 3870x2, and then they go ":confused:" and just walk away, thinking to them selves that I'm an idiot for buying this computer because it doesn't have as much hard drive space.
Why this bothers me:
1. They think I'm an idiot for spending more and not getting as much hard drive space as their 3 year old machine
2. They go around telling people that I'm a computer illiterate moron (EG. "Dude, this guy thinks he got a good computer, but he only got 300 gigs HAHAH!" "REALLY?!" "YEAH" "HAHHA WHAT A MORON")
I work in office IT support and its part of daily routine to break terms down for less illiterate users.
Instead of being belligerent with them try to educate. Empower the user etc etc
I love this thread
Customer: "I use Landscape Navigator."
Do I get this with cloud?
I love it how most people here don't realize that "Giga" is really 1024 units. I.e. 2GB = 2048 MB != 2000 MB.
I'm not saying all of you do this, but when I see someone complaining about illiterate people and they use the incorrect figures it makes me:

This is true when dealing with bytes and bits, but when talking about other things, it's generally 1000.
Hey [EG]Pepper, Apparently I was calling you a " mischievous 09'er" on the previous page.

Oh god, my posts are horrible.
Yep and everyone seemed to agreed with me. I think you need that as a title now.
Holy christ, i've wisened the fuck up in the last 5 years.
Now that i look back, 14 year old me needs a good smack around the back of the head.

Seems you were a bit of a loser yourself back then

Hah, wow...
Only losers self-rate.
Only losers self-rate.
Which is why you can't do it anymore I believe.
but now we can't pinpoint the losers :C
but now we can't pinpoint the losers :C
losers are the one that get banned or actually invited someone and they get banned resulting in themselves getting banned.
Actually I remember self rating, because ratings wouldn't show up until there was 2 of the same type (to prevent people self rating..) so If I made a joke I would rate it funny to make it show up if somebody else had :v:
of course at the time I don't think it showed the people who rated it
I remember when 4gb was more than enough for me, oh how times change:

I remember the good old days when I had a 320mb HDD and it was plenty of storage.
Now I refuse to have less than multiple TB's in some fat raid5.

Same goes for everything else. I've gone from 8mb of ram to 8gb, and the 40MHz processor's been replaced with a 4.0GHz i5
I feel old now.
