N64 games are so awkward on a PS3 controller, it's hard to work out controls.
For games like say, SM64, it is very awkward when you want to do the Z+A Jump or Z-Targeting in Zelda 64 games. Other than that, Super Smash Brothers works great with it.

Should I make some banners so the thread looks more pretty? le automerg [editline]25th July 2012[/editline]
My Z and A are right next to each other. Just map the controls like I have them, it actually works really well.
I prefer L2 for the Z button.

So, I got my Nexus 7 yesterday morning, and here's all the game stuff I've been doing: I've been shoving ROMs and emulators down my Nexus 7's throat for the past twos days. The SNES/NES/Gameboy/Genesis ROMs all work really well. Most N64 games work well, except Conker's Bad Fur Day, which refuses not to skip and make the audio all terrible sounding. Couldn't even get past the intro it was so bad. Kirby 64 - The Crystal Shards is the only N64 ROM that actually runs 100% perfectly. The only gripe I have with it is the fact that it requires the D Pad to actually work. At first I thought it was a broken ROM :v: Smash Bros. has a really strange bug where sometimes the eyes on characters don't render. It's really freaky. I tried to hook up my PS3 controller to my N7 via Bluetooth, but it refuses to work. Oh well. OTG cable is in the mail, anyway. Dead Trigger runs fine, just hard to control with the big control area. I'll get used to it I suppose. Overall, fucking amazing device. If you need a tablet but not a 10 inch one, GET THIS ONE. I just tried out Conker's Bad Fur day and it and the intro ran decently on my Thrive with fog effects off and Frame Skips set to one or zero. For the PS3 controller, did you run the program from the sixaxis site to change it's Bluetooth address? Also did you connect it via USB to pair with your device?

The only way Kirby runs correctly is with 0 frame skips :v: PS3 controller is detected and works with the compatibility tester, but the actual app doesn't detect shit. It was the worst part of my day yesterday :(
Changed the ROM on my EVO 3D to an unofficial release of Cyanogenmod 9, started it right up and now I'm enjoying games. Everything works great with my Wiimote.
Why does the OP recommend Gensoid when MD.emu is far, far more accurate and just as fast
Finally got FPse working on my notebook running Android-x86. Now to take care of flash player.

Looks like a cool little centre for emulating games, it'd probably be awesome to use with that Ouya console. I'm thinking of putting it on my ye olde laptop. [editline]26th July 2012[/editline] [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/22565769/dooknookom.jpg[/t] Found my old Dook Nookom disc.

I'll figure it out v:v:v What I really need though is a dev to work on this app with me :P

I'd love to help but I haven't meddled with Java on Android so I probably wouldn't be much help :v:
How is that Android-x86 by the way? I'm thinking of putting it on my ye olde laptop.
Entirely depends on the image used and your laptops hardware. I'm strongly considering about learning to compile my own Linux kernel and how to make my own Android "ROM", so I can come up with a version that fully utilizes my laptops hardware. Right now I'm using the latest build meant for some Asus laptops from here: http://www.tabletsx86.org/
Does anyone know some Rock band/ Guitar Hero/ Audiosurf alternatives for android? Can't find one.
Does anyone know some Rock band/ Guitar Hero/ Audiosurf alternatives for android? Can't find one.
osu!droid is a pretty decent port of osu
Good new everyone! I found a developer to work with. I may/may not post status updates about it here or in the Android thread. I am excite.
osu!droid is a pretty decent port of osu
Thanks, but I'm not really looking for anime.
Thanks, but I'm not really looking for anime.
Music Hero, it's pretty new and I tried it this morning. It's fantastic!
Thanks, but I'm not really looking for anime.
It has every genre of music - pretty huge library overall Don't let the pink scare you off ;)
Music Hero, it's pretty new and I tried it this morning. It's fantastic!
Thats what I've been searching for, thanks. Only con is that it doesn't sync with the custom songs.
Thats what I've been searching for, thanks. Only con is that it doesn't sync with the custom songs.
it does for me
Recieved my OTG USB cable for my Nexus 7 today. For some reason in games like Dead Trigger the triggers and right thumb stick work fine on the Xbox and PS3 controller, but they aren't detected by the emulators I use. Anyone else have this problem? In other news, progress is being made on my app! Can't wait to share it with you guys :D

Also, you said the PS3 controller connected but didn't do anything right? That might have been the problem before. You need to change the input method from keyboard to sixaxis.

Android detects the device, gives it a driver and it's own set of keys. I can rebind all the buttons fine in Dead Trigger but just not emulators. It makes Zelda impossible to play. And yeah, I set the PS3 controller as the input method. The issue was it wasn't getting detected by the app/device. Shit's a pain, yo.
Damn it, I need a controller. I'll probably borrow someone's PS3 one.
Thanks, but I'm not really looking for anime.
Cytus?
Gonna roadtrip, so I put some Zelda+Mario64 on my TF101. Works great, though the fact that I don't have access to a bluetooth controller is a bit of a buzz kill. But I found out using the on-screen thumbstick and the keyboard dock keys for buttons works great! But my real goal is to figure out how to get GemRB to work, so I can play Planescape Torment. Very vauge install instructions, in addtion to the fact that Planescape is split into 4 disks, makes this a little more difficult.
Thats what I've been searching for, thanks. Only con is that it doesn't sync with the custom songs.
I can't even get it to load a custom song. Samsung Galaxy S II stock 2.3.6 (Kies is a broken piece of shit and I don't know how to install custom mods). The files live in /media/audio/musichero on the internal storage (which gets mounted at both /sdcard and /mnt/sdcard)
