I've basically broke down intel vs. AMD to this, in my mind. Intel for high end performance but expensive AMD for budget minded consumer but reasonable performance to price ratio. My original idea was just a laptop that the keyboard/mousepad popped out and the screen popped out and you could put them on your desk while you put the actual computer off to the side so that working with a laptop on a desk would be more comfortable, but you could still pop the screen and keybaord back in and have a portable laptop.
