Geeks are either slightly overweight or slightly underweight. I weigh 127 lbs and I am 5'12". Therefore underweight. Some people in this thread have admitted that they are slightly overweight. I suppose the geek gene carries some strange traits with it...

One of my teachers actually say to unplug the computer for 5 MINUTES for every single possible error a computer has. He says it always fixes everything. What would the time limit its off matter. Plus doing this will not fix the internet if it is not working.

I asked him why. He said: "If you don't pull the battery, the capacitors won't completely drain, and your phone will still have those problems when you turn it back on because you didn't allow the data to drain from them completely."

someone on the minecraft forums talking about how dial up is better because it takes longer for the viruses to download and thus more time for the antivirus to catch it.
someone on the minecraft forums talking about how dial up is better because it takes longer for the viruses to download and thus more time for the antivirus to catch it.
Well you could just limit your download speed to like 1kB/s to catch viruses, but it'd hardly make a differense as your antivirus usually is fast enough to catch it, even if it's downloaded instantly.
How the fuck has no one brought this gem up? http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?p=24049450#post24049450 Just a little snippet showing this guys idiocracy...
As we move into an HD age, I want to know who does the HD stuff better, PS3 or 360, cause PC's don't got 1080p.
once i was visiting my grandparents for a week , i had my laptop with me. i was walking up the stairs and i heard someone talking in the room where i sleep , i peek through the door and see my grandmother talking to the closed laptop , she was like "computer, turn on"
I might build a cluster out of old dells and use it for folding.
This isn't really a Computer illiterate thing, more like a media illiterate. But my Gramps is still computer illiterate. I was at my grandparents place, and I rented the Movie "Be Kind Rewind", with Jack Black in it and lots of funny other things. Well the movie finished and I took out the DVD and gramps ask's, Hey! You Better Re-Wind that before you put it back in the box. I was kind of lost for woods to how to counter him. In the end I told him that it dose it automatically. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has gone through this situation.
