So I was told that my server with dual 1GHz PIIIs and 1GB RAM would be completely useless. I can host a 12 port GMod or CS:S server fairly nicely. My friend was trying to join my listen server and kept asking for my WAN ip even though I kept telling him he can only connect with my LAN ip, that's the one people can see. Fucking fought with him for an hour until I just ignored him. Stupid-asses should just stay away from computers.

They need your [b]LAN[/b] (which stands for Large Area Network or something around that) so they can connect to your modem.

LAN = large area network WAN = weak area network get your facts straight

I'm not sure on the WAN part, always thought it had something to do with wireless (obviously wrong), but LAN is Local Area Network and is the short-range one.

made an ass of myself in the IT "class" (it's really an internship where we're an IT staff). I kept having tip of the tongue syndrome :( also we've got an imac that turns off after a few minutes on the windows side (boot camp). Another guy suggested we reclone it. Any thoughts? We also got an old mac that won't display anything. Can't figure it out but damn was it dusty.

I'm not kidding, I've got an old Mac that has a poor connection (something up with the monitor and display adapter in the motherboard) so no display, but when you smack it, the screen turns on. It could be the screen, or the computer is messed up.
