I was once banned for accidentally becoming the king of page 100.
I know this is not computer illiteracy, but it shows how stupid I was when I joined Facepunch nearly 2 years ago.
I'm sorry for being "dumb".. :(

after the money he spent on the laptop probably none
what
If I had to guess I would say he means "source engine.gcf" or maybe "source 2007 binaries.gcf" or one of those.
Showing of his Google background, wonder if it comes with his GMail account logged in.
Whenever one of my parents manage to put some trojan on my PC or just fuck something up, they always propose the "solution" of, "Turn off the computer, let it rest, then try it again."

I have a good example of stupidity, not sure if it really counts as illiteracy though. Back when I built my computer I apparently put an extra sound card in my case and it completely covered the fan on my graphics card. It took me six freaking months to figure out why my graphics card was running so hot... I gained a bit of respect for XFX cards though, they recommend not letting the card get above 105 celsius and it never once went above 104.
I also have one more example which was more did not do the research rather than illitereacy. This computer is my first build, when I built it I had a PCI nVidia 8400GS and I later upgraded to a 9800GT. My PSU was 450W(I think, it might have been 350W) but it was the older 20 pin one and my motherboard has slots for the 20+4, my 9800 takes a 6 pin connector too. (I only had a 4 pin.) I somehow managed to get my computer working this way but since everything wasn't getting all the power it needed, it kept corrupting my OS.
Then I found the sound card blocking my graphics card fan and had to remove the graphics card to get the sound card out and my computer wouldn't boot. It was around this time I realized how stupid I was and replaced my PSU with a 400W with the correct pins. Haven't had issues with my OS corrupting since then and my graphics card hasn't gotten so hot since then.

heheh
Yeah, this IS my first custom built computer though. Plus between 2000 and 2008 I had to go without a computer because of my idiot step dad so I'm still learning some of the stuff. I built this computer around April of 2008 and my inexperience from that point was the big problem. I at least learned from my mistakes though. (I'm still not sure where that extra sound card even came from though!)
