You seem illiterate in the English language.
Seriously, WTF! Enough with the damn resolution / crysis wars. This is fucking ridiculous. Every time it looks like the argument is over, Bomino feels like it's necessary to make a fucking point because his e-penis might suffer from it.
This thread is about computer illiterate people who think they know things, not about computer smugs who can't agree on anything.
Just because this thread is about computer illiterate people it doesn't mean that every one has to try to prove that some other person is illiterate. These are crazy small mistakes and disagreements not fucking content.
So please, do me a favor enjoy your resolutions don't argue over them.
Seriously just block him. Suddenly his bs just disappears. You guys keep quoting him. I wish the blocker would block quotes from a blocked person too.
Today in the library the computer would not boot up correctly. The librarian comes over and reads allowed, "disc error." She then proceeds to eject the disc tray and insert a blank disc.

well this seems to indicate that 1024x768 and 1280x1024 was the former standard and that 1680 and 1920 is taking over with 1680 in the lead. Somehow i tend to think that the lower ones were owned by more people in 2007 than now and less people owned the big ones than now... Alright fuck this argument. was fun while it lasted... until it started annoying everyone else... and Odellus really knows how to make these thinks more than personal.

Oh god. I never went on a "make shit personal" rampage. you'll have to go to Oddellus for that. all i did was try to make a point and people wanted to nitpick and tell me i know jackshit about the past. So just chill. AFAIK it's over now anyway. If my posts in GENERAL happen to annoy you, then by all means block me and get over it. If me posting in here, then just skip over it and seek help or something. my posts are compact and skip-able with only a few responses refering to them. stop being a baby about someones presence on the internet.

Actually, I can build computers, and code in C++ and HTML. I'm not an illiterate.
Are you talking about people who claim to know about computers or people that just don't give a fuck and think it's sad?

You both sound like illiterates
Actually, I can build computers, and code in C++ and HTML. I'm not an illiterate.
Just because you can code and build computers doesn't necessarily mean you are computer literate.
I just found out that a friend of mine, which actually knows stuff when it comes about computers, has a high resolution monitor (maybe 1280x1024, possibly more) but runs it at 1024x768, resulting in eyerape, because "otherwise the icons get too small". Seeing him gaming made me cry, all that potential wasted...
Oh, and what browser does he use? That's it: IE, because it's "safer, faster and smoother than the other ones."
I wanted to stab my ears every time I heard that CLACK sound whenever he clicked a link.

I think I'll trade my 1024x768 monitor for his one. I can't tolerate the idea of such a waste...
I often hear about how IE is safer "because it's more updated therefore better"

Why don't he just up the size of text and Icons?

Too difficult you have to think like a retard when considering their reasoning.
Just because you can code and build computers doesn't necessarily mean you are computer literate.
That's exactly what it means, actually.
Too difficult you have to think like a retard when considering their reasoning.
That's a bit harsh. this isn't some Grandmom (whom you should respect regardless). this is a guy who has the know how to google such things.
Whoever posted about it; either swap with him if you can OR tell him to look up how to increase icon and text size. Your call.

I honestly don't see why everyone thinks this is a problem. I have a 1280x1024 compatible screen on our spare room computer but we run it at 1024x768 because it looks better. I don't see how it's eyerape. Hell, I don't even like playing PC games above 1024. If he thinks it looks better, that's his opinion, not illiteracy.

This, I would kick his ass for.
what kind of shitty game doesn't support 720p?
Some old games, but most do now. Only some games don't.
Wat. You don't like playing at higher resolutions because they look worse?
I remember back before I knew how to change the resolution of a game, they'd all play at 1024x768. I quickly discovered how when I got a 1280x1024 monitor and discovered games look a lot better at native resolution. This especially holds true with a 16:9/16:10 aspect ratio monitor, games look like horse shit on anything below the 4:3 resolution of 1600x1200, and even then because it's not the native ratio they still look off.

I don't know why you think 1024 x 768 is better on a 1280 x 1024 monitor. All its doing is scaling the smaller resolution to the larger one, so it look like crap. LCD's ALWAYS look best as their native resolution.
Maybe Sonicfan has a CRT?
offtopic: I might get a co2 fire extinguisher to protect my investment, is it worth it?
