What exactly is mono? I don't know in which context you mean.
I know PHP and advanced Batch, and I've built my laptop. Am I literate?
Haha, advanced batch Guys he can do what we do without gui, this guy is genius Built laptop? Any idiot can get it fit in case and connect connectors there and here [editline]05:08PM[/editline] Ironically half of posters here are illiterates themselves who thinks building computers, coding hello world application in c++ and using linux makes them literate. Show of your IT certifications kids, no one gives shit if you can code in html or not
I'm working on my literacy for the area. I did build my computer and I'm taking a C++ class at my college. The best thing you can do to reduce illiteracy is to read around. Google helps solve a lot of illiteracy problems.

And if you choose to be programmer, get other basic certifications of other fields, CCENT for basic networking, and that microsoft's easy certificates
If they are easy, then anyone who would employ you should recognize them. Do something that stands out as unusual, but usual enough that a quick google could fill the employer in. Sounds logical to me.
then anyone who would employ you should recognize them.
If employer haven't heard about ccenp then employer is dumb
My point exactly. If it's easy, then it's not impressive unless no one else at all has it on there resume. Then it's just above the other peoples [editline]10:31PM[/editline] I don't know if it is essy though, I'm going off what I read here, so feel free to correct me.
Believe me, if you have few certifications on your resume (not MS Word certificate that school gave), you will find job easily and get good amount of money
Haha, advanced batch Guys he can do what we do without gui, this guy is genius Built laptop? And I agree fully with you on the laptop part, was a piece of cake.

Show of your IT certifications kids, no one gives shit if you can code in html or not
By your logic I would need a masters degree in English before I was considered literate. I don't claim to be all knowing when it comes to computers but I sure know more then your average person does.

My friend consitently thinks that his 512mb ram is more than my 2 gb ram because it is 'a bigger number' .
Believe me, if you have few certifications on your resume (not MS Word certificate that school gave), you will find job easily and get good amount of money
real-world experience + references > certifications
real-world experience + references > certifications
Certifications get the green ones, real life experiences are no good for other than illegal work or helping grandpa. Still, I have to agree that you learn more (almost typed gain faster exp :ohdear:) from real-life experiences and references.
you learn more from real-life experiences and references.
I don't think you understood what I said.
I talked with my friend on the phone, he said "I just got a new computer, i bet it has more gigabits than your RAM :smug:" :wtc:
My friend consitently thinks that his 512mb ram is more than my 2 gb ram because it is 'a bigger number' .
Tell him 2Gb is short for 2000MB.
I don't think you understood what I said.
Probably didn't.
Tell him 2Gb is short for 2000MB.
Can't believe i have actually never thought of that
tell him 2gb is short for 2000mb.
2048
2048
I guess so
My friend consitently thinks that his 512mb ram is more than my 2 gb ram because it is 'a bigger number' .
thats not just computer illiterate thats number illiterate. yours has a bigger number if the number made any difference anyway.
God dammit, I have a friend who wanted to get into PC gaming and said I can put together a PC for him, though he goes and buys some OK Gateway machine with a Core i3, Intel graphics and a decent amount of RAM. I told him that if he wants to play games that he would need a new graphics card and power supply, so I send him 2 newegg.ca links. He goes to fucking Staples and buys a 700 Watt, no-name PSU and (If I remember) a Geforce 220 card for way more than their worth. Newegg.ca ships to my area in a day or two...

Haha, I just can't get over seeing Colonel O'Neill with a mullet.
Erricson: :frog: Please?
instead of starting a new thread, maybe someone here can explain what this is- was found in the ooooooold UVB-76 bunker, alongside a 4 year old printer. oddly new lookin' tech for a 1980's supercomputer room flooded and worn down from years and years and years of neglect...
