It's the ridiculous attitude of "computers are complicated and I am older than you so if I don't understand you don't". Hmm reminds me of the time a video wouldn't play at school so this girl pointed out they were "two strings" hanging out the back of the projector (they were audio leads). The teacher went batshit insane with "ALL THE COMPUTERS IN THIS SCHOOL ARE REALLY COMPLICATED NO ONE IN THIS SCHOOL EXCEPT THE TECHNICIANS UNDERSTANDS HOW ANY OF IT WORKS".
(before reading this story please note I have a pc i have built/upgraded) So I go on over to my friends house and the phone rings and then he goes downstairs to talk, I then here "yes, yessssssss!" reallly fucking loud. I run down and he is like. Him "it was puralator, my alien ware is coming!!" Me "how much did it cost?" Him "2.7 grand :downs:, it's gonna crush your pc" I then make a -_- face he then goes :smug: "you can't deny it's power!" I let him have his fun because i am not one to be a prick. ( rate heart)
It depends, he's acting like the more it costs the better it is. Alienware computers are built good, they do last, and are as good as any custom-built, besides the fact they overcharge you for them.
lately their laptops have been cheaply made shit. i assume their desktops follow suit.
I didn't have a choice 3 years when I got an Alienware desktop, it was pretty awesome. The case appealed at first, but later I just purchased a HAF 922. I have had no issues with it since. I did have the replace the PSU because the 1000w it came with did not fit in the HAF 922. But other than the case and PSU, there's been no issues with it. I don't see why everyone bandwagons on the hate about them. Sure, they're overpriced but that's part of making profit.
so much buyer's bias
No. I've had custom-builts too, they are almost similar in performance.

I remember when a teacher was trying to print and she was getting frustrated that it wasn't working so I pointed out that the printer wasn't turned on and she had this huge raging fit and then proceeded to ignore my sound advice to turn the printer on and instead clicked on random things in the page setup options of MS Word. I don't know what the fuck.
I found this in some old chatlogs, I want a Netgear graphics card. [11/12/2009 22:11:57] James: xxx was telling me about his "new netgear graphics card" [11/12/2009 22:12:25] Ben: suprised? Some small content. So today i got my DLA i went to the bank to get it give my dad £200 for keep anyway, i ask to go to novatech so we do i get a sidewinder X6 and he gets some corsair ram and a Phenom II x4 965 for his motherboard which is a ASUS M2n32-sli deluxe so i'm like "that's a quad core, cool" and he says "Yeah i'm getting a quad core now" we go home i unbox my keyboard and he sets his pc up, anyway. He gets confused as to why it's stuck at 800MHz he try's everything he knows (Which is a lot more than me) so about 4 hours later i search up his motherboard and why it's not working even though he's updated the BIOS and everything ASUS says it apparently works with it. Found that the ASUS M2n32-sli deluxe cannot support it, naturally he gets pissed off and says "Fuck computers they are a big waste of space and money, the world will be better off without them" so i walk off back into my room he opens the door and hands me a piece of paper which is his next motherboard i search it up and find it to be compatible with a Phenom II x4 965 so he gets the amount of money ready and will buy one tomorrow. I guess everybody makes mistakes sometimes.
random comment on youtube: "hey I just bought a 3-way SLI GTX480, would it run all current games at max?" .....
Thank God for the google DNS, else these damned viruses would have stopped me installing Spybot! They changed my DNS to some shit that seemed only to block Spybot, I could get on the sites of all the other major AVs, just not Spybot...

My dad used to think the "i" in iPod, iMac etc meant information. :/ Haven't got any more content. :(

Man, reading this thread always makes me want to stab a motherfucker after a page or so.
Didn't i just say the same thing about mac addresses 2 fucking pages ago?
My computer lab teacher yelled at me for fixing her computer, but then system 32 came up on the start and she flipped out, thinking I gave her a virus. I got out of school early, and nearly suspended for that misunderstanding.
Why can't we just get an outside experts opinion in these cases.
I have a feeling that 99.4% of these stories are made up
What would be the point of making up stories?
To impress people on an internet forum
That is quite pointless.
That's not a CPU. Dumbasses
That's not a CPU. Dumbasses
Not from a PC, but CPU's can come in any package. Look up the PIC, for example.
