May i propose a system where people who post 3 times without content get banned from the section?
1 strike for you.
I know this is derailing like hell, but: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=995505
If you live in the same state, go for the birthday party!
Well, he might be computer illiterate but if so I doubt he thinks he knows things.
Yes, of couse I do.
I work at the helpdesk of an insurance company. Well, a few weeks back, my boss, who is completely computer-illiterate, got a new laptop. That morning, I received a call from him. Whenever he started up his new laptop, it would show him a picture of lightning and it would shut off.
I had to tell him to plug it in.
What's that download more ram thing? Is it a virus? I know it's fake because ram is hardware, not software
it's just a flash animation of a loading bar I think.

thats what I remember anyways.

Its a joke.

We need an 'obvious' rating.
No, he was asking if it was an actual download which may have contained a virus.
I bring you content from the TeamSpeak forums!

Running it as a service is the only way for this to happen.

Incorrect... I can assure you, that my Kodack EasyShare software is not loaded when my computer boots to the login screen... Otherwise, in theory, if you had 30 user accounts, each with their own defined list of services, ALLL of them should load when you boot according to your assertion - but does that make logical sense? So without logging in, I don't think it is even possible at all (unless you have an OS configured properly, which goes beyond the TS forums) or have something like Windows Server 2000 or 2003
For my actual server computer, I simply disabled the password to my account. This way it boots directly to my desktop. Granted, I decreased the priviliges on that account as a security measure, in case something "bad" happens, and I also hardened the system before doing any of this. However, my computer boots with TS in the startup folder, and like magic it loads upon sys reboot.
Not sure if this counts as illiteracy, but it made me raise an eyebrow nonetheless:

It technically makes it unaffordable, as Apple usually charges iPods for major version updates :v:
iOS 4 was the first time they ever gave it out for free.
They said they're giving the updates out for free from now on
Really? Cool beans.
I just found out I've been pronouncing ASUS as, well, AY-SUS. Apparently its pronounced AY-SOOS.
:smithicide:
In other news, I don't understand the Intel/AMD fanboyism, I think that the Intel i7 series looks like a series of amazing processors, personally more appealing than the AMD Phenom or whatever AMD is pushing right now (Not nearly as good at marketing), but I still use AMD because they fit my budget and give me the speeds I want (AMD Athlon II x64 QUAD @ 2.9GHz is only $125.00, good enough for me :v:), and because frankly, I'll buy whatever brand fits my socket.
I always pronounced it a-sus.

Yeah, both companies make great CPUs.
But generally, if someone has a low budget, they should go AMD since they have awesome budget processors, and someone with a big budget might want to go with Intel since the i7 series is awesome for rendering, and the i5 750 is really good.
theres an aluminum imac stuck to the wall in the lobby of this building, and guess what, its running windows xp and displaying information with excel. haha.

[editline]03:40PM[/editline]
what keeps you from just formatting the hard drive and then installing Windows?

i dont know, thats why im asking. :phoneb:
i also dont know how bootcamp works.
Its easy
just google "how to install windows with bootcamp"
we got a Imac 24" and it maxes out source
Well, with Steam on Mac there a few games you can play natively on OSX. But installing XP with bootcamp is easy as hell.
for a cheap $2,000 for a mac you can max out source games! so amazing

Nothing, Bootcamp is just a utility for setting up partitions that use different OS'es. You want to just format the whole thing and toss some other OS on you can AFAIK.
