I have a bad habit of never turning my computer off.

Also about the stupid dads and the widgets, tell him to add more widgets and recommend a ton of them to him. Maybe then he'll see it was the friggen' widgets doing that.
My dad is a fucking dumbass. The computer is now slowed to a halt, and he can't even turn it off. And now he is telling me that I'm going to pay for repair fees because "I screwed it up."
God fucking damnit.

Actually, after a few minutes, they just shut off and they'll have to be loaded up next time you use "dashboard". Pretty neath knowing that they don't eat up a lot of shit for nothing.

A few minites ago I managed to get the computer to work (barely) and removed everything but the default ones, and also moved it to a table next to an air conditioner. It runs great now, but I now have to deal with my dad getting pissed because all his widgets are gone.

I was able to shut her up by getting her into Left4Dead.
Find a game and get him into it, he'll stop bitching about Steam.
Then you'll just need to convince him to get rid of those widgets.
Maybe you could back up those widgets, take them off the computer, then show him that the computer runs faster without them than they do with them, even with Steam and Firefox on it.
Not sure if this belongs here, but, a few weeks ago my fathers workplace got a computer & letter saying that they had a virus that was deleting files, and "cyber spacing" their drivers.

And if he's got loadsa widgets running chances are most of them probably weren't made by Apple.
He just told me that he is taking it to the Apple Store tomorrow "To fix it" and that I'm paying for it. He took $70.00 out of my wallet, and told me that I am not allowed to use any of the family computers now, because I'll "Screw them up by loading on games and shit"
