[QUOTE=hexpunK;23453461]Yup workstation cards can handle rendering large textures, extremely high polygon counts, a lot of lighting effects, etc in offline renderers (where the scene will never change) Better than a normal GPU, but don't really do well in a online renderers like games use, where the scene is always changing.[/QUOTE] I'd like to build a massive render farm out of hundreds of these and remaster Toy story 1 with TF2-style shading.
[QUOTE=PunchedInFac;23453507]I'd like to build a massive render farm out of hundreds of these and remaster Toy story 1 with TF2-style shading.[/QUOTE] Good luck with that.
I hear that a fair chunk of the price comes from the drives included with the card.
[QUOTE=Carl;23452177]What? I needed to know that before i order it, i couldnt find both of thier dimensions so i asked for help. Page king, i sentance you to beheading[/QUOTE] If your buying from newegg, its right in the specifications...
[QUOTE=xxncxx;23453969]If your buying from newegg, its right in the specifications...[/QUOTE] I went to google. Took me less than 2 minutes to find the dimensions of BOTH.
[QUOTE=GWMCOCD;23453549]I hear that a fair chunk of the price comes from the drives included with the card.[/QUOTE] The price comes from the fact that there isn't consumer demand for the card so they CAN charge that much.
[QUOTE=Boris-B;23450228]I know that the starting on startup thing is not a big deal but it still pisses me off. I don't like the fact that applications get themselves into my system configuration. When they port it to linux they better not fuck with my config files...[/QUOTE] Agreed.
[QUOTE=PrusseLusken;23451001]Hey! :sigh:[/QUOTE] the post isn't poking fun at you, it's the guy after you [editline]11:34PM[/editline] i just put you in there to show who the guy was replying to

[IMG]http://a.yfrog.com/img811/4047/96f.jpg[/IMG][/QUOTE] not illiterate, but for some reason I felt like posting it here. Something about the whole "mac's price being mostly about the clean look" concept this thread tends to divert to, I guess.
That paint looks horrible, but the logo looks awesome.
Is it just me or is the logo a bit off-center, the apple logo seems like it's above the middle. He did sort of run it by flicking paint all over it, but the TF2 logo was a good idea.
[QUOTE=Carl;23451161][url]http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4311512&csid=ITD&body=MAIN[/url] bought this card tryd it in starcraft, plays the same as my 20 dollar 4x agp card on my sons computer what is up?? So yeah, I decided to buy 3 of these to do 3 way SLI on my X58 mobo...worst mistake of my LIFE! These don't even support SLI! That's right, $3000 for a card that doesn't do 1% of what a GTX 285 will do! I've got a Biostar mobo with onboard graphics better than this junk! I don't know what the hell PNY was thinking, or the other fools that rate this so high are thinking. This card SUCKS! Not a professional card or gaming card, just plain old CRAP! DON'T BE A FOOL! GTX 285!!!!! Have this card in one of our office set ups and my new VisionTek 5870 would destroy this card for the value. Same performance and direct x11.. A fool would buy Hahahahaha[/QUOTE] You paid a $4000 Quadro Workstation card that is designed for 3D modeling and similar graphics designs, and wanted to play some shitty low-requirement video games on it. Congratulations, you are officially an idiot.
Holy shit he's gotta be trolling
I was posting what people said in the reviews then said hahaha, im not retarded. Yall misintirpertated the post
I thought you'd quoted because you said Hahahah
[QUOTE=TomoAlien;23449087][media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCEQZ_4V7NY[/media] 90% sure i am late.[/QUOTE] I posted a comment on how he's a complete Mac-Fag.
[QUOTE=Demache;23368150]Don't hate on chiptunes. Not really computer illiteracy, but a really common question people ALWAYS ask me is "if I get a VGA cable for my Xbox, can I plug it into my laptop and use it as a monitor?" I don't know why, but people are REALLY persistent on being able to do this. I always say no. And they always ask why. And I just say that the VGA port is for output ONLY. For some, that's enough to convince them. For others, they say "I'm sure you could download a driver or something". I say "download all the drivers you want, but it will never work". Someone actually had the nerve to say I was making up shit as I went and he's going to buy that cable and get it to work. Not surprisingly, it didn't work. Sometimes though, I get the same question, but about the HDMI port on some newer laptops.[/QUOTE] Actually, there IS a way to do this. You just buy a VGA box and hook the xbox into that, and as long as your laptop has a VGA port, you hook the VGA cord into that. And yes, I've DONE this. I know what I'm talking about.
OSX IS THE SUPERIOR GAMING PLATFORM. ALL OTHERS ARE INFERIOR TO APPLE'S DESIGN. /c
[QUOTE=brianosaur;23458746]OSX IS THE SUPERIOR GAMING PLATFORM. ALL OTHERS ARE INFERIOR TO APPLE'S DESIGN. /c[/QUOTE] Did you respond with something like "Oh, so that's why most major games have been on consoles and Windows for like the last 15 years, and are only just now showing up on Macs?"
[QUOTE=Carl;23457802]I was posting what people said in the reviews then said hahaha, im not retarded. Yall misintirpertated the post[/QUOTE] Maybe you should learn to use the quote tag then?
[QUOTE=Computermaster;23458897]Did you respond with something like "Oh, so that's why most major games have been on consoles and Windows for like the last 15 years, and are only just now showing up on Macs?"[/QUOTE] He's being sarcastic.
[QUOTE=Computermaster;23458897]Did you respond with something like "Oh, so that's why most major games have been on consoles and Windows for like the last 15 years, and are only just now showing up on Macs?"[/QUOTE] THAT'S BECAUSE MACS ARE THE FUTURE /caps

Either way, these people asking me are going about it the wrong way.
[IMG]http://i27.tinypic.com/o09xth.png[/IMG] I raged. [editline]10:48PM[/editline] raged HARD
[QUOTE=LinuX;23462329][IMG]http://i27.tinypic.com/o09xth.png[/IMG] I raged. [editline]10:48PM[/editline] raged HARD[/QUOTE] That's not rage worthy.
[QUOTE=LinuX;23462329][IMG]http://i27.tinypic.com/o09xth.png[/IMG] I raged. [editline]10:48PM[/editline] raged HARD[/QUOTE] Dude, me too. HP makes far better computers.
[QUOTE=Demache;23461887]Are you actually displaying it on the laptop monitor, or just an external monitor? Either way, these people asking me are going about it the wrong way.[/QUOTE] External monitor, however you should notice that I said "as long as the laptop has a VGA port"

And Dell is absolute shit. I raged too.
Dell isn't absolute shit, at least not for monitors or laptops.
^ This, Dell's monitors are among the best around in that price range
