Dell makes crazy shitty cheap ass Motherboard that will fry at any occasion. HP makes better mother boards that can sustain stress. Dell has some great monitors. HP still has some little design flaws: -Glossy Laptop (you'll love the finger marks) -Chargers are too small (my buddy's caught on fire...) They overheat. -They seem to like to cram too much stuff into too little space. Besides these few small things, I love my HP laptop.

I had a gateway laptop that died after two years but my HP is still going after 6

Its pretty decent for the price, a lot better than if I'd bought a Dell. The glossy exterior is pisstaking though. And you can't compare a sale price to something's full retail price. [editline]12:15PM[/editline] and I have a Dell laptop that's 3 years old and still going but the battery died months ago, although they said it's expected for Lithium Ion batteries to die after about ~2 years if it's in the laptop and charging constantly.

Speaking of Dells, who here remembers the explosive capacitor debacle? The real suck part, is that that just happened to be the year my high school decided to replace all 3,000 or so of their computers. Also, I love my Dell Studio 17.
