Computer illiterate people who think they know things V5 = I FLICK PSU VOLTAGE SWITCH

if I had my chance, I'd totally mislead a newspaper guy in explaining what's going on for the subtext
So I built my gramma a new computer since her old one was a relic. She comes up with the craziest problems and idea with her computer. I don't in any way blame her since she is a gramma, but I laughed pretty hard when she told me "You need to come over and show your grampa and I how to right click. There are so many things that can be done with right click but we just don't know how to use it."
Then I was going over the build with her and she wanted a ton of usb ports. Fuck memory, fuck processing speed, the build needs usb ports to be a supercomputer. The usb expansion card was five bucks so I just threw it in there and made her happy.
She used to use Outlook, but she didn't want to pay for it on her new computer so I got her Thunderbird. Apparently the two are a bit different. She called me up asking how to forward and I went through the process, part of which being right clicking. "Woahhh, you can right click in here? This is a really advanced program!."
For the record I don't call my grandparents on my father's side grandparents. I call them gramparents. That is why it is spelled wrong.

Oh god, can somebody please register on the forums and tell the mod that ISPs don't store all website data on their servers. He seems to think the internet itself is contained in your ISPs servers, meaning it's up to your ISP to keep all pages up to date.

Oh wow, nice find. Pretty fucking tragic to see a mod on a forum for internet security products saying that.

Yes... that's why I said I "also" have an Emachines LCD, incurring it's an Acer.

So here I am, copying 1TB of digital backups to my media center at 92MB/s (Gigabit lan), in firefox with +70 tabs open (Total ram usage: 550MB) while I'm chatting with me mates on skype and on MSN, and you're telling me that a super-sophisticated and very expensive Mac can't do the same as my bargain what-ever-I-had-laying-around desktop Windows machine?
:slick:
Edit:
Wait a second, we're talking about iOS4 aren't we? Oh well, same applies as above, except the gigabit lan is now 11Mbit/s WiFi, Opera has only 2 tabs open (25MB RAM in use), and skype isn't running however MSN is.

Seems to me that this is just a misunderstanding of how a desktop operating system works (Both systems have always worked this way)

No the guy just doesn't know how to use the operating system because he's a dipshit. It's OS X.

This is no surprise, most of your posts are completely stupid.

You must have gotten a dud then because I have had my dell inspron 1520 for a little over 3 years now and it still runs pretty well.

Yeah, if you don't mind shitty Microsoft ad's while you read your mail, stupid ass messages about the newest Live messenger/ Microsoft BS ad's, oh, and the piece de resistance:
~Having your email sold (farmed in lists) to 3rd party Spammers by Microsoft so they can make even MORE money~
but no, you're right, why switch to gmail?

Let me guess: yours lags in HL1.

Yeah, I told him that's not how ISP's work, I pm'd him after he deleted it telling him how dumb he is for:
1. Deleting my post because he can't accept the fact that hes wrong
2. Giving people completely stupid advice
3. Calling me silly when its clear that even a 1st grader knows more than him.
What did you post?
What did you post?
Can't remember, but I did PM him about his dumbness.
nice one
nice one
I think he's ignoring me. Its been 15 minutes and no reply, and I even posted in the thread to see if he's ignoring me.

Yup, hes ignoring me, deleted my second post.
[editline]05:57PM[/editline]
On the contrary, i'm quite intelligent....but that has zero to do with your first post. I do not know why you seem to think ....that i believe the ISP store the executables, never said anything like it, quite amuzing, but perhaps also why you should not have posted.
The same thing happen everytime a new build is out. Immediately few users will claim it's not there....when in fact it is & available for download and until all around the world are synched we'll see these posts...takes a day usually and then everybody is happy. You can choose to think what you want, i have dealt with knuckleheads like you for 5 years and they come and go and always think they know better and exactly what i or others meant....when in fact they often missed completely.
Now i repeat if you have nothing better to with a first post then to start a fight, then just stay away.
Thats his reply.
My brain hurts from reading that.
I read everything after "knuckle heads" in the Scout's voice.
I know he has horrible spelling skills but he may be right.
It's quite possible that Kaspersky has global mirrors that need that needs time to sync with the master server. It's also not uncommon for some ISPs to cache content.
Don't be so quick to shoot someone down.
[editline]06:37PM[/editline]
But in all cases unless you were being a troll/ass in your posts he's a bad moderator.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
