So? He bought a Mac and likes it. What's the problem?
lol
[editline]05:55PM[/editline]
the problem is he's lying because you can't get a 27" iMac with 12GB RAM
[editline]05:56PM[/editline]
and also because if he did buy that, it would cost over $3,000.
Here a bit of illiteracy i've experienced:
I got called by some of my older friends who has been using computers for like half a year. So, her problem was that when she tried to save a document it just closed the program.
Being the mostly helpful person that I am and only 5 minutes away, i decided to see what was going on. Turned out that when she wanted to save she clicked exit and when the question "Do you want to save changes to "Untitled"" came up, she clicked no. I asked her why, and she replied "I want to give it another name than "untitled".
Luckily most of my friends/people I know listen to me if I talk about computers and follow my advice.

You can add up to 16GB. He prolly had 4GB and added 8GB or vice-versa.
Jesus christ 12GB of RAM does not cost $1400.
Jesus christ 12GB of RAM normally does not cost $1400.
Fixed. This is apple we're talking about right?

$1,400 for 12GB of extra ram? Seriously?
4GB DIMMs aren't cheap.
8GB 2x4GB $840
It's $400 extra for 2x4 8GB.

They're targeting mactards, who doesn't know shit.
To those idiots, they would think all expensive things are good.
They charge £120 to install a matte high res screen in the MacBook Pro. One reason I'll buy refurb.
I go to a music oriented school, and before our big concerts we can download files if we want which are basically backing tracks with the music teachers singing the different parts so we can practice.
Girl: I can't download the files! How do I do it?
Teacher: Ok, well, what operating system do you have?
Girl: ????
Teacher: Is your computer a Mac or a PC?
Girl: It's a HP!
:geno:
Honestly, the iMac isn't all that overpriced at stock considering the 27" LED backlit IPS display by itself is worth over $1,000.
The refurb prices are great. And the 27" panel is IPS and LED backlit.

Yes that's what I just said.
ITT: Computer literates don't talk about computer illiterates. What happened to this thread?
My friends mom didn't allow him to play L4D2, since she saw the demo. He WAS allowed to bbuy it for his cousin as a christmas gift, so he did that. Then they thought "Hey, maybe we should try and install it here first so we can play it before I go home!" so they install it. ON MY FRIENDS STEAM ACCOUNT. Obviously they made a mistake, but the solution? He gave his password to his cousin and now he gets to use all his games whenever, which means he gets logged out every time :downs:
my schools PC tech support
"your printers not working due to some complicated reasons you probably wouldnt understand"
me:Like?
he then rambles about words ending in BYTE acting like he knows what he's doing.
me: did you hit the ink button after putting the cartridge in?\
I then got detention for questioning his intelligence even though that was the problem.
I would have filed a complaint if I got a detention for that.
I actually think the iMacs are great all in one computers for the price. The display is amazing and it packs acceptable specs. But damn, that 27" display is insane. SO MUCH SPACE.
They're also good for computer illiterates. Its pretty much one plug
They're called All-in-One and have excisted since the laptop was invented.

Holy shit I can cache my whole steam folder on the graphic card.
Newegg, use commas for christ sake.

I'll have to disagree. Pricing is pathetic and the specs are hardly acceptable (unless you've got $2-3000). Plus they run incredibly hot.

The display adds a lot of value IMO. And the specs aren't up to gaming par but its good for everything most people need to do. Garrys compiles gmod on an imac

It was slow as hell, not to say a mac can't be fast. I'm mainly saying that it's a poor system for the price. OSX is a pain to use.
They have nice displays

We have different views. it's okay. I would prefer windows on a desktop though

I agree that it's fine for regular stuff, but the prices aren't exactly worth it. Using common sense, they're beat in every corner of the market in terms of price
