It's funny because you could do all of that without the Mac.
what? i needed a laptop, got a MBP at half price. (about 75% price for any other brand) i took it. it's funny because you want, so bad, to point and laugh at macfags... then you become ones.
I wrote a book in primary school called 101 Ways to Destroy a Mac. Ignorance is bliss
http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=976274
Hi guys. I'd like a free gaming PC. It has to play crysis on very high though, and preferably have nvidia 3d surround screens. People need to make realistic budgets. :colbert:
this can't actually be serious, right?
It's from a set of teenager books, the Cherub series, they're actually rather good, as if any book, let alone childrens books, will contain detailed hacking information.
Yesterday my mum was on the phone to my uncle. He thinks he knows things about computers. They were talking about how the capacity of hard drives is growing so fast these days and then he said: "Yeah, I've seen external drives that go up to five teragigs." My mum tries to correct him by explaining; "No, tera and giga are both things that go before '-byte' telling you how many there are." But he refused and insisted that terragigs is the right terminology. :eng99:
I think it's :eng99: I'm right.
I think it's :eng99: I'm right.
Schweet thanks man

That's a lot of space on an external, or anything for that matter.
Y'know, watching the Mac advertisements, they're appealing to tech illiterates. Just watch.

This guy that's supposedly a computer engineer came over here for a dinner a couple times. The first time he asked to see an old server I have from 95 or 96 because the thing is a fucking monster. He asked me to take the side panel off, and when he looked at the inside he says "wow, that CPU must be .56k jigahertz.". I just went with it because I didn't want to start essentially calling him a retard and having to give a lesson on how computers work, so we moved on to the hard drive which was something like 7mb, and he asks if it's 5400 "rotaries per minute" or 7200 "rotaries per minute". After him mispronouncing just about everything inside of the computer (mostly by replacing giga with jiga and using words like jigawatt or jigabyte to describe things like the fan) he finally had to go. The next time he came over he was bragging about this amazing new build he just bought for $1500. He said that it has a 900 jiga psu, 8 jiga of ram-memory, two 2terabit hard drives in red zero (when I asked the brand he said hitatchi deskstar :downsgun:), three tri core CPUs clocked at 1500 jiga each, and 4 8600gts with 1 jiga in red 5 (I think he was implying that the memory in the card can be put into RAID). When I asked him what type of motherboard he had that would even support all of this, he said he just soldered a couple old ones together so that there would be enough CPU/RAM-Memory/graphics ports. Needless to say I had to excuse myself from the table and go laugh my ass off for a couple minutes

She's the kind of person that buys a $1500 iMac just to play FarmVille or some shit :downs:

Antivirus 20XX.
Lots of Mac hate here going on by some hypocrites. You get pissed one guy likes Mac so you decide to stoop to his level by proclaming "ha idiot knows nothing they are all stupid herp derp" so it continues. Fucking assholes.
A pretty big package came for me the other day and my oldest brother (2 months away from being 21) said "What's this?" and I said "probably my motherboard" and he didn't believe me. I opened it and sure enough, it was. He said "that's not a motherboard though!" and I said "yeah it is, what do you think the motherboard is?", and he said "Isn't it those small flat things?". I walked and picked up a package, and said "This?" and he said "Yeah! What's that if this is the motherboard here?" and I said "...the memory." He built his own computer when he was my age (16), but when he was 18, he got a Macbook. I think that's why.

The majority of Mac owners are illiterate morons who bought it because it was shiny, another large portion are the "Omg i suu crativ ^_________^" idiots who buy one just because "it hs photoshop". The small portion of people who actually have a viable use for a Mac that a Windows/ Linux based PC cannot do? Small. It's the way Apple are idolized, and the way they handle their business that makes a lot of us hate them. Their products are overrated, overpriced, and generally underpowered. There are so many things wrong with the way Apple does business and the way their products work, but I get along with my life, it doesn't bother me that people buy mac products, I've been through three iPhones now, and I still like using them. But when people defend Apple with all their heart? Please.
I don't get what's wrong about a complete idiot getting a mac. I personally don't want to use them because they are restrictive as fuck. Complete idiots getting macs is fine as long as they shit the fuck up with their bullshit. Apple computers have less chances of crashing and less chances of getting viruses. They don't have a big part of the market. Nobody codes shit from them. As for crashes, the hardware and the OS are made by the same people, that means that it should be stable. These are the perfect conditions for a computer. When you look at this thread you can see tons of stories about people having to be fucking tech support for their families and friends. Tell them to buy a mac. It's gonna work, it's dumbed down enough that they can figure it out and you'll be at peace. Apple is obviously targeting certain groups of people. Mostly retarded hipsters who will be loyal servants and people who simply don't give a fuck about computers in general. Computers are tools, they want to use them for entertainment and work. Like a toaster they don't want to worry about how it works and fixing it every once in a while. I think that life would be much better if apple actually had a good share of the market. Shit would be cheaper and they couldn't get away with all the bullshit (Mac don't get viruses, hurr durr). Everybody uses windows when it has obvious flaws. The entire computer business rolls (mostly) on window because vendor have deals with Microsoft. Microsoft grew in popularity when back in the days IBM chose their shit over other companies for their computers. This is the same with x86 processors. Generally speaking the x86 architecture is shitty. Coder don't have to worry about it because they code at a high enough level that the annoying is done automatically. This, again, happened because IBM chose to have x86 CPUs for their computers (back in the day). We're living in an era where the average user is generally going to get shit. It's like a car, if you don't know shit (I mean nothing) about cars there are good chances that you'll fuck your car up. You don't need to know the full mechanics behind it. All you need to know is how it generally works and what to do and what to not do. For the complicated stuff you bring it to a mechanic. That's the same with computers, if people are going to be uneducated about basic computer knowledge then they will fuck up their computers. That's why schools are giving general computer classes to kids.

I feel it is more well coded and robust than a lot of Windows apps, and a lot of stuff you would have to pay for on Windows, there is a free Mac equivalent. Not always, but quite a lot. [editline]07:25PM[/editline] I use my Mac because I like the hardware, and the OS works fine for me. I don't use a lot of power, just the occasional game and a bit of Photoshop. I used Windows since 95 all the way up to 7. I just prefer Mac OS. I am by no means an idiot when it comes to computing, and I have built a PC, albeit it a few years ago.
macs are bad

For what they are designed for (simple tasks/ design tasks), Macs aren't terrible, but I just can never justify the pricing. Though some media software does work much better on them apparently. Mainly due to the developers paying more attention there.
I actually have a Mac. I installed Windows on it.
If you only use windows on that then what a waste of money, paying twice as much for parts just to install windows on it.
