So I'm at Siggraph in Los Angeles... For some odd reason there's hundreds of people on macbooks along the hallways and in different areas, doing their own stuff. I cracked a joke about them not having much else to do since everything is pretty much PC-based software here, minus the photoshop panels. I have a project, though, that I gotta finish by tomorrow. Think it's a good idea to go commit ritual suicide by planting myself in the middle of them with my gaming laptop and a massive tablet? I can only imagine how much I'll be told 'art is easier on macs'. :gonk:
Everyone will look at you for a few seconds, then blindly ignore you, and when they leave you'll get a smart-ass comment with "You know, should've bought a mac"
Use nothing but command line based programs.
I imagine everyone saying "OH MY GOD HES HACKING!!!"
Fuck he deleted them. What were the videos about?
A little kid saying "HERP DERP PC SUX CUZ THEY GET VIRUSES AND CRASH AND MAX ARE GUD AT ART AND THYE NEVER CRASH AND NEVER VIRUS :downs:"
Probably the capacitors have enough power to keep the RAM active, windows does this intentionally when you put 7 in sleep mode (now called hibernation from new update) it shuts down the processor and all other devices, but leaves just enough power to keep the RAM on, making for a quick restore to desktop.
What you said is completely retarded, for a start Google Capacitors and you would know that it would be impossible.
Aren't capacitors like an analog multiply gate? :v: [editline]10:18PM[/editline] Nvm, that's a transistor
Alot of people in my school have an iPod Touch and ask me to jailbreak it. The things they say make me laugh so hard. "so if i jailbreak i get free music?" "i heard it was illegal to jailbreak" "if i jailbreak can i still play games?" "how much does apple charge to jailbreak? "can i still use internet explorer?" "can you unlock my ipod so i can call people" "jailbreaking will destroy your ipod and erase everything" /facepalm.
Aren't capacitors like an analog multiply gate? :v: [editline]10:18PM[/editline] Nvm, that's a transistor
They're like very fast batteries. [editline]04:51PM[/editline]
"can i still use internet explorer?"
Ok, what?
Aren't capacitors like an analog multiply gate? :v: [editline]10:18PM[/editline] Nvm, that's a transistor
Capacitors are like a temporary power supply, they can charge up and discharge.
normally used to keep a current stable thats why there are either 1 or 2 big ass caps in PSUs
They're like very fast batteries. [editline]04:51PM[/editline] Ok, what?
It upsets to see that "They're like very fast batteries." Is the only way to explain to an average Facepunch user these days.

You must stand high in what you believe in. :patriot:
It upsets to see that "They're like very fast batteries." Is the only way to explain to an average Facepunch user these days.
Oh get off your high horse. You probably had to use Google to find half the stuff you've been talking about out. Capacitors are pretty much, temporary batteries, they store a charge for a very short amount of time normally, but can hold it for a while longer. Tell me how that isn't like a "fast battery"?
What's the max post count of a thread?
I asked my friend how much HDD Space he had, he said "80 tiggabytes" and he also think Norton is the best antivirus ever and that the ATi rage is the best card ever
What's the max post count of a thread?
2,005 I believe Edit: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=977102 Ninja'd
8000 or something like that, 'twas changed [editline]01:08AM[/editline] As it would have locked already.
2,005 I believe Edit: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=977102 Ninja'd
good job...

A few years ago my Dad bought a video camera and got me to set it up on my computer because his was awful. All fine but then he noticed I'd skipped the install for Acrobat Reader 4. I attempted to explain how we didn't need it because I had 5.0 which was newer (this was 2003) but he said I needed it because "the camera would be looking for 4.0", so I explained you only needed it to read the PDF manual, which we didn't need because we had a printed copy, and it was backwards compatible anyway. He was stubborn about it, we fell out and the camera didn't get used for a week because I wouldn't install 4.0 and "we couldn't use a camera which would just be looking Acrobat Reader 4.0".
8000 or something like that, 'twas changed [editline]01:08AM[/editline] As it would have locked already.
I just put so much efford into that new topic.. :eng99:

My mom loves to buy these knock-off brand, overpriced versions of programs and then give me shit for not knowing how to use them. Like she had some cheap knockoff of Excel, fucked up the margins on some document, then asked me to fix it out of nowhere. Then when I struggle because I'm unfamiliar with the interface she says "I thought you knew a lot about computers. Stop before you break it!" [editline]01:08AM[/editline] rage
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.442820 Not really computer illiterate, but it's kinda silly to see the lowest priced CPU on Newegg being paired up with a 480 in a combo deal.
That CPU is worthless anyways. I bet NE is only doing it to clear their stocks
