Her avatar looks like something that would fit on a Mac Fangirl Meme thing.
Because I don't know shit about building computers, is this a good build? I've never heard of a dual-core card that could 'unlock' two more cores and just become a quad-core.

Opera > Settings > Quick Preferences > Enable Animated Images
I uncheck that every time I'm on facepunch now because "LOL OPRA CRASH" is running wild

I can see the start of an ASCII angel at the bottom. Therefore, I deduct that she is also a radical WBC-esque Christian, and I'm basing that off nothing.

Probably a dragon or some shit from NARUTO or BLEACH or whatever fanfiction crossovers girls her age are drawn to.

Oh good, now I have something to tell people that PM me about it.

Is it even animated? Whenever I decide "nobody uses those anymore" and re-enable them two threads later Opera will crash and I right-click and block content, which is what you should do after turning animations off.
inform me how you can have an image crash a browser. is it all APNGs or something? did the guys who made opera fuck up that badly?
Oh good, now I have something to tell people that PM me about it.
I normally would have you(and everyone with an APNG avatar) on my block list, but since I'm using chrome it's okay.
I'm at my grandparent's house.
They were still using I.E. 5...
It spins, but apparently Opera tries to render one frame a millisecond when it's supposed to do it at the screen refresh rate.

I ran vista x64 on my macbook when i didn't know anything about computers. My Macbook has a 2.0GHz C2D, 1GB of DDR2 667mhz ram, Intel GMA 950, and a 120GB HDD. It ran flawlessly, of course, Windows 7 felt that it had a bit of a giddy-up, but when I first got XP, it felt so clunky to use, AND I thought it was ugly.. And being illiterate at the time, it was damn near impossible for me to get rid of viruses/trojans/malware/adware/etc. In vista I was still illiterate and nothing happened to me.
I have to agree, it was because Vista wouldn't run on Pentium 3 computers. That's what gave it bad rep.
Also, what person would use XP at this time who is computer literate, Vista/7 is the only Windows OS you should be running now, unless you're running a server OS. In which case I would run Ubuntu Server Edition or something.

Why the fuck should I upgrade to 7 on a shitty 6 year old computer that won't run it. God damnit, if you actually have seen my posts you'd know I am building a new one.

Wasn't stating that towards you. And that's what I MEAN.
Why the fuck should I upgrade to 7 on a shitty 6 year old computer that won't run it.
Illiterate people did that on vista, it didn't work, vista's reputation was hurt.
Okay, so a few weeks back I started getting BSOD's every time I'd start up, and I never bothered to do anything about it since it wasn't affecting overall performance or anything and I didn't have any money, etc. Anyway, yesterday morning I woke up, booted up, and it crashed as it does every morning. However, this time when it restarted it gave me the message "Windows cannot boot blah blah blah, Status: 0xc000000f" and basically my hard drive got fucked.
So, using my parents' money and now being in debt to them, I got a new HDD and installed 7 on it and began re-downloading/installing my old games and programs and stuff. However, I still NEED some of the files on my old hard drive. I talked to a friend and he found out that freezing a hard drive for about 12 hours should temporarily get the hard drive to boot long enough to save some of the files on there. So, I wrapped my old HDD in freezer baggies and put it in my freezer for 12 hours. 12 hours later I open it up, take the HDD out, and find that it's so fucking cold that I'd probably get frostbite if I left my hand on it for a minute straight. I waited a few minutes before touching it again before picking it up and inspecting. Now there's frost all over it and I'm hesitant about plugging it in and trying to boot it, since frost becomes water, and water plus electricity is a bad thing as far as I know.
tl;dr: I put my hard drive in the freezer for 12 hours and there's frost all over it and I don't know what to do now. Should I use paper towels/cloths to soak up as much of the frost/water as possible then boot it ASAP while it's still relatively cold? Should I wait a few hours until all of the frost is gone while occasionally soaking up water, and wait until it's room temperature to boot it up? Or... what else?
I really need to save the files on this thing if it's possible and this is kind of an emergency since this is all happening right now, and the hard drive has been out of the freezer for about 20 minutes as of when I'm hitting the "Submit New Thread" button.
Help or advice on what to proceed with next would be much appreciated.
I've upgraded a ton of computers to 7 from 6 or 7 years ago. It's always an update.

I'm not upgrading to 7 on my 4 year old laptop, because its not worth the money (I mean upgrading, not Windows 7 itself). It could run the Windows 7 Release Candidate fine. Its just that this laptop is maybe slightly better than or on-par with most low-end laptops now spec-wise (Core 2 Duo E7200 2 Ghz, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB HD). Now combine that with miscellaneous problems with age (battery not as good as it used to be, dead pixels) and its pretty much worth less than a new Windows 7 disk. Since I'm going to be building a new PC in a couple months, I'm going to stick with XP.

There is another factor, if it's not in your budget, and that wasn't my point.
