So I let one of my friends from school home, he's a 10 year old, pretty dumb. I let him on my expensive 20 year old computer, (cause I kinda keep these things in my attic) and then guess what happens. He puts all the files in /dev/null and then smashes it. Guess I'l be suing him.
Just tell him "Give me 300 dollars or I'll tell your parents you destroyed my computer"
I've found out my avatar can make the latest version of Opera lock up or crash. Browsers thread, brb. (User was permabanned for this post ("Browser exploit avatar" - Hexxeh))
I'm interested in this, can someone pm me a link to an image that crashes opera? If mods wont allow this then just ignore this.
I'm interested in this, can someone pm me a link to an image that crashes opera? If mods wont allow this then just ignore this.
They're just APNGs with a frametime of under a certain value For some reason Opera crashes when it tries to render it
So I had some friends over last night, and there was a really bad thunderstorm going on. One of the lightning flashes was extremely bright and afterward, despite my computer being off, the LEDs on the keyboard illuminated briefly. So I was thinking "oh shit, surge, everything is fried, fuck" and I run to unplug the thing before any more damage can be done. One of my friends pipes up, "no, don't unplug it! You have to let the residual charge drain back out!" Everything was just fine by the way. Not sure why those LEDs lit up, it definitely wasn't a surge in the line.
Also, what person would use XP at this time who is computer literate,
Hard times, dad just got a job. I've been computer literate for a few years but just got the money to upgrade. Bought it with the money I made by mowing lawns.
They're just APNGs with a frametime of under a certain value For some reason Opera crashes when it tries to render it
.
So, is it just APNG's, or what? Does my APNG avatar do the same thing his did? I made mine APNG(it blinks) right after Hoffpunch happened.
I had it set at one frame a millisecond, so use something like 300ms just in case.
So, is it just APNG's, or what? Does my APNG avatar do the same thing his did? I made mine APNG(he blinks) right after Hoffpunch happened. [editline]...[/editline] Meh, I'll just be safe and change it to the non-animated version. You couldn't really notice the blinking anyways.
Yours was safe on Opera.
They're just APNGs with a frametime of under a certain value For some reason Opera crashes when it tries to render it
Latest version of Opera seems to be full of holes compared to Firefox. But hell it's more stable, which is why I'm using it now. I have no intention of going back either.

This APNG exploit is pissing me off. I can hardly use Opera.
My dad says Firefox makes computers crash. I say that's a load of shit.
Last time in my weekly computer class. I made this bat file.
@ECHO OFF color 0a cls SET P=0 ECHO. ECHO Malaysian Cyber Law Agency. =Top Secret Content= choice /T 1 /D y > nul ECHO. ECHO Initializing... choice /T 1 /D y > nul :LOOP CLS ECHO. ECHO Malaysian Cyber Law Agency. =Top Secret Content= ECHO. ECHO Initializing... Preparing Files. ECHO Loading... ECHO %P%%% SET /A P=P+10 choice /T 1 /D y > nul if %P% LEQ 100 GOTO LOOP cls ECHO. ECHO Malaysian Cyber Law Agency. =Top Secret Content= ECHO. ECHO Creating Hidden Files... choice /T 3 /D y > nul ECHO Hidden File Created. choice /T 1 /D y > nul SET P=0 :LOOP2 cls ECHO. ECHO Malaysian Cyber Law Agency. =Top Secret Content= ECHO. ECHO File Information is a Top Secret File Codenamed 'The Matrix' choice /T 1 /D y > nul ECHO This file has a very sensitive content. choice /T 1 /D y > nul ECHO This file will be downloaded to your brain. choice /T 1 /D y > nul ECHO Please give full attention to the screen. choice /T 1 /D y > nul ECHO Showing File Information. choice /T 1 /D y > nul ECHO Initializing the matrix. choice /T 1 /D y > nul ECHO In 5 choice /T 1 /D y > nul ECHO 4 choice /T 1 /D y > nul ECHO 3 choice /T 1 /D y > nul ECHO 2 choice /T 1 /D y > nul ECHO 1 choice /T 1 /D y > nul ECHO Start choice /T 1 /D y > nul REG QUERY HKU /s
Which is just some words at the start and ends with REG QUERY HKU /s. All of my friends freaked out and they were like "Is this true?" and then "YOU'RE A FUCKNG GENIUS!" and then my teacher who is a programmer saw that and she was like "OH MY GOD! HE'S HACKING THE NETWORK SERVER! HE EVEN HACKED GOVERNMENT FILES!" The stupid part was, I ran the bat file off my flash drive because I saved it in there. They confiscated my flash drive and 2 days later, I saw my discipline master using it. Also, I can't believe the discipline master actually have warcraft in his computer and in class, he sometimes talk about counter-strike. Also, I almost got banned from computer and got sent to the authorities. But then I explained to them that it was just a puny harmless bat file. and one of my friend ran around like an idiot shouting "BRAINWASH! TURN OF THAT SHIT". I love my school that is full of computer illiterates.

The people at my school decide to change the main cursor (just the main mouse, not the scheme!) to that stupid fucking walking dinosaur. They then proceed to ask for help with crashing, or typing (really, someone asked me to type for them once because I have awesome typing skill), or ideas, etc. IT'S HARD TO CLICK WITH A WALKING DINOSAUR AS A CURSOR! Not to mention that these shitty old beige boxes can barely run XP, let alone animate a dinosaur at the same time! Also, people keep asking me to fix their monitors. The power cables are so loose and shit that they fall out all the time, but is it that hard to plug in a fucking cable? :eng99:
just walk the dinosaur
That's the problem. On a normal pointer, the point is where you are clicking. On a dinosaur pointer, where you're clicking is completely invisible!

It only showed when Windows was loading though.
my step mom is amazingly good with excel and word. she's used to 2003 (which i didnt know, i assumed because i installed 2007 on one of their computers, she used that), and now they got a new computer and they keep getting microsoft 2007 30day trial nag screens. my dad asks me to fix this and my mom hears about it and is like NO I DONT KNOW HOW TO MANIPULATE WORD AND EXCEL WITH 7. i assume she means windows 7. i ask her how would it be different, the program would be the same. it doesn't matter what OS (in our situation). especially from microsoft xp to windows 7. she keeps explaining to me and then i realize she means word 2007 as word 7.
That's the problem. On a normal pointer, the point is where you are clicking. On a dinosaur pointer, where you're clicking is completely invisible!
It's the top right corner of the image. It's not that hard to aim with. :colbert:
It's the top right corner of the image. It's not that hard to aim with. :colbert:
It is for me... Still, no excuse to have an animated dinosaur as a cursor!
This APNG exploit is pissing me off. I can hardly use Opera.
Click the big red O button, go down to Settings, Quick Settings and untick Animated Images. Whenever someone's avatar makes you crash, do that, right-click and block their avatars, then turn animated images back on. It's been getting better recently with all the permabans stopping tards from doing it. IF ANYONE IS UNSURE WHETHER THEIR APNG AVATARS WILL CRASH OPERA, INSTALL OPERA AND TRY TO VIEW YOUR AVATAR. Just in case, you should keep using opera. Forever.

It's not like opera takes a day to load.
