I have a story from 2006, contains a bit of illiteracy. So I'm at a friends house having fun with BB guns, when I notice he had GTA 3 on PC. Being the nostalgic person I am, I wanted to play it because I hadn't played it for a good 3-4 years or so. They told me it was broken because they recently took their computer to some guy to get it repaired for a misc. thing (I forget what the problem was), and they claim that the guy who repaired it removed something from the CD. I told him that was nonsense as it was a DVD-ROM (Or a CD-ROM, one of the two) and that you couldn't remove/edit something on what is an un-writeable memory format. They were adamant that was the case, so I put the disc in the drive, loaded it up on windows (it was a windows 98 machine FYI) and looked to see if anything had been removed that would have possibly disabled it from launching (like autorun.exe, or something). Everything was where it should be, so I attempted to launch the game. Lo and behold, I get a directX error (once again, I forgot what the error was.) All I simply did was open the graphics properties window in windows, unchecked a tick box and everything worked after that. Nevertheless my friends were left gawping, despite the simplicity.

One of my friends had his computer die on him (it stopped turning on, I think it was the PSU). His parents then bought him a Dell XPS for ~$1200. It has dual 9800's in SLI, dual 1TB hard drives in RAID 0, 8GB of RAM, and a quad core processor. He mostly plays his Steam games on it, and he told me "its a good system to play Garry's Mod on." Most games run at a default 640x480 because of the dual screens nothing knows what to do with. Its also "too good of a system to play FarCry on" (I think its just a compatibility issue with SLI).

When my pc died the other day, my graphics card was making its constant lower power screech. My mum couldn't even turn off my pc at the psu (the plug socket is behind some cupboards), she had to wait for my dad to get home (i was at work). I also hate it how she always asks me the same questions for how to use Microsoft office, when I've shown her many times that she can just get guides off google. She doesn't act like she knows what shes doing, but it still annoys me!

Guys I have some really old laptop memory (most probably DDR), do you think I should mod it so it fits on a keychain? I might have to cut it in half though...
