I'm at my mom's right now posting from my laptop. On her computer she had an issue with a website. She said something was blocking her and what not. Ends up firefox blocked a popup. She didn't even care to take a look at the big very visible "Option" button that showed up.
Another thing is that she had a Mcaffee plus thing installed. My dad built her that computer and he didn't put that on there. I have no clue on what the fuck she did but now it's there.
My sister uses that computer too. I think she, as a teenager (getting there) is less of a threat to the goddamn thing that my mom. So my sister uses MSN Live messenger shit. My mom managed to mistake it for skype. She used skype plenty before. She also called us once to try to guess my sister's password for skype (the one she uses) Now I understand why it didn't work even if we gave her the right password.
She also asks me and my dad to use our computers to print or to look something up online. She has a laptop that should could connect to the wireless network. She doesn't want to.
She also doesn't believe in Google and the fact that there's a lot of information on the internet.

If you're talking about OSes I think the main reason they keep pushing new shit out is hardware technology, NVidia vs. ATi and AMD vs. Intel and all that shit, since manufacturers are competing to come out with the newest fastest stuff like all the new DX renders that aren't supported on older OSes. Maybe for Apple the reason they're so successful is actually [i]because[/i] you can't upgrade, if your computer gets slow and you're tech illiterate (you bought an macbook in the first place) you'll probably throw it away and buy the next $20,000 apple computer

Yes it is an improvement. The problem is that the stuff that's improved s completely retarded. Transparency and glossy icons is in no way useful. It's retarded and designed so that dipshits buy their stuff.
They don't sell because of the new technologies in software. They sell because idiots all over the world are impressed on how you can have transparent windows and align 2 windows side by side by moving them to the side of the screen.
The reason apple is in business is because they didn't focus on new software technologies they focused on shiny shit that would impress stupid motherfuckers. On the other hand Microsoft has been developing a few technologies and not focusing so much on shiny retarded stuff. That's why XP looked like shit.
Back in primary, I was the only great one who could use Word and Powerpoint right, I didn't think so cause it was so easy.

What you said about mac is true, macs proper use is movie, picture and music making (creative arts), people at my school buy mac books for facebook and surfing, they wasted freaking $1500 on a piece of shit mac that could be used for other great creative things.
