• Microsoft claims Linux 'at end of life cycle'

this entire post just about sums it all up on how you are being dumb
LMAO at all the clueless freetards rating me dumb, none of which have ever worked in enterprise software development. Enjoy being 15 years old, all of you! While me and Libertas try to explain why Linux doesn't get things ported to it, you guys offer red herrings and fallacious arguments grounded in wishful thinking. We're not even bashing Linux. Hell, I like Linux (for some things), but your guys' zealotry is making you look foolish. If you're upset/wondering why I keep rating myself Winner: I think it's hilarious that this message board lets me do it. Deal with it. That doesn't mean my arguments aren't honest and well-informed. If you believe your time is worth money (and it is if you're old enough to have a job), then yes, it does cost a small amount of money. The electricity and internet connection are undeniable physical costs, as well. Is there something wrong with the fact that it costs money? I'm not sure what you're trying to prove here. Nobody (serious) uses Dreamweaver for web development. Same with Flash. Any developer worth his code is going to use a notepad-like application for development, and Linux is an equally great platform for that. Photoshop and Fireworks are used frequently for creating web images, but not all web developers use such advanced programs for them. LMAO, I don't use OS X (except at work). I don't even like Macs. You're dumb. This is a joke, right? Have you ever had a job? There's a reason companies aren't switching en masse to OO.o, and it's not just the cost of redeployment and training. OO.o's feature set is infinitely smaller than MS Office's is. I know that as an OSS zealot you're inclined to think that everything open-source is inherently better and more feature-ful, but you're flat-out wrong.
screw you, i'm going to watch code monkeys
But really, mrcsb, you've got to shut up. You're whining because you want to whine. Others are expressing their opinion and you are invalidating them. Go do something else. And don't blame the "message board" for you being self-rating winner. It just makes you come off as a narcissistic douche.
To everyone, Use whatever OS you like and stop arguing about it. I sure as hell don't care what you use. Thanks.
But really, mrcsb, you've got to shut up. You're whining because you want to whine. You're correct about everyone else expressing opinions though, which is why everyone is upset. Because they don't know how to make actual arguments and I shoot down their opinions with actual facts. [editline]26th November 2010[/editline]
this entire post just about sums it all up on how you are being dumb
Yes, clearly my pragmatic real-world knowledge of enterprise software use makes me "dumb". You still never elaborated !
freetards
Quit thinking price=quality And quit rating yourself winner do not use tard as a postfix.
I'm actually not whining, if you know how to read and take contextual clues, I'm providing well-reasoned arguments. You're correct about everyone else expressing opinions though, which is why everyone is upset. Because they don't know how to make actual arguments and I shoot down their opinions with actual facts.
i think the openfags comment was a little much though, don't you think? [editline]26th November 2010[/editline] and dag10 is right, rating yourself winner makes you seem really narcissistic
Quit thinking price=quality
That's not the issue here, so please put away that straw man. If you're talking about the MSO vs. OO.o thing, price isn't what makes OO.o inferior. OO.o just is. But it's ok for most people, because it is free and does most of what MSO does for the average user. [editline]26th November 2010[/editline]
i think the openfags comment was a little much though, don't you think?
no, because Lusers / Freetards / diehard Linux zealots are immune to reason* *before you bring out the straw man, I rather like Linux, just not Lusers / Freetards / diehard Linux zealots
*before you bring out the straw man, I rather like Linux, just not Lusers / Freetards / diehard Linux zealots
so does this mean that that i can call you a freetard too? [editline]26th November 2010[/editline] you freetard [editline]26th November 2010[/editline] also all your bans are for trolling, which says something [editline]26th November 2010[/editline] excuse me, 2/3rds of your bans [editline]26th November 2010[/editline] and now i'm shooting for the automerge record
I'm actually not whining
Yes you are.
if you know how to read and take contextual clues
Insult much?
I'm providing well-reasoned arguments.
No, not really. You're just trying to invalidate others' opinions about matters of opinion. Nobody here said "Linux is best for X Y and Z". You see, they're actually saying "I like to use Linux because of X Y and Z". You're acting as though they said the former and you're trying to use facts to disprove them. They're actually saying the latter so you're arguing matters of opinion. Nobody is hurting you with their opinion, so shut the fuck up.
You're correct about everyone else expressing opinions though, which is why everyone is upset. Because they don't know how to make actual arguments and I shoot down their opinions with actual facts.
As I said, you're shooting down their opinions with facts, but it's still their opinion. You're not going to change them. They're not going to change you. Their opinion is not harming you. You're just butthurt that not everybody follows the most logical opinions (logical to you, that is). So calm the fuck down, go outside, and enjoy the cool fall breeze. It's rather nice this time of year.
so does this mean that that i can call you a freetard too? [editline]26th November 2010[/editline] you freetard [editline]26th November 2010[/editline] also all your bans are for trolling, which says something
Logical explanations get you winner's you winner!
Logical explanations get you winner's you winner!
why, thank you! :golfclap:
Last thing going to post in this thread before I mark it as unread and forget about it, he claims he is not saying the OS sucks, yet anyone who defends it in the thread, he claims is a 'freetard' etc. I am just going to let him get back to his little fantasy world where his is the only opinion that matters.
That's not the issue here, so please put away that straw man. If you're talking about the MSO vs. OO.o thing, price isn't what makes OO.o inferior. OO.o just is. I still don't get what the point of them are. I do just fine with vim.
Freetards
Good job trolling or flaming its quite obvious that calling somebody names is a good argument :golfclap:
Forgot to say, his claim of, well I am not saying it sucks because I use it, just reeks of the, as he puts it, strawman argument of, well I say I use it so therefore I can say anything bad about it I want, and no one can say I am saying anything bad.
I'm out.
Forgot to say, his claim of, well I am not saying it sucks because I use it, just reeks of the, as he puts it, strawman argument of, well I say I use it so therefore I can say anything bad about it I want, and no one can say I am saying anything bad.
Why did you use so many commas? In any case, this whole argument is stupid. Open-source software is good, it's not going to go away any time soon, and runs the backbone of the things we experience every day. Need I say anything else?
so does this mean that that i can call you a freetard too?
Nah, because I'm not a Linux zealot, just a user.
You're just trying to invalidate others' opinions about matters of opinion. Nobody here said "Linux is best for X Y and Z". Nobody is hurting you with their opinion, so shut the fuck up.
Too bad you got butthurt and used the ignore list, because you obviously can't use contextual clues. See, when I joined the argument, we were talking about why large companies wouldn't port their software to Linux. This isn't a matter of opinion, it's a conflict that can only be resolved through facts and reasoning. So please, other people that aren't childish enough to ignore me and get butthurt, learn to read before you try to sound smart. :)

Personally I love LaTeX. :) [editline]26th November 2010[/editline] Cool, I made a comic to sum up the last few pages:

YAY I SAVED THE THREAD /c
you are a gigantic trolling faggot go fuck yourself
I don't think that word means what you think it does. In case you're wondering, my face doesn't look like this right now: Anyway, don't get upset and call me a troll just because you don't have an rebuttal for my arguments. Not that you need to have one. Take a chill pill and leave the argument (discussion) me and another guy were having alone, jesus.

I'm sure Justin Bieber pulls plenty of ass, though. lol that you guys had the same idea
Damn, we're getting into serious derail territory. I'm sure Justin Bieber pulls plenty of ass, though. lol that you guys had the same idea
it's cause it's true
Damn, we're getting into serious derail territory. I'm sure Justin Bieber pulls plenty of ass, though. lol that you guys had the same idea
you know what they say great minds think alike Not as derailed as the whole argument thing though.
shoo, fag, don't bother us real men! :sweep: [editline]26th November 2010[/editline] also both macintosh and linux are based off of the unix kernel so technically unix based systems hold about 9% of the market, which is still growing so it is becoming more and more logical to port stuff to unix based systems
Not as derailed as the whole argument thing though.
Oh come on, don't be silly. At least we were discussing something that involved both Microsoft and the Linux ecosystem. Now we're just talking about my Justin Bieber avatar (which is horizontally flipped, by the way, I don't think anyone's ever noticed :) )
