What exactly are you running?
SA-MP server. I've got code within it that creates a directory and writes information to it, except it doesn't write because it doesn't have the permission.
What are the best tips to stay secure when using wine? I mean like changing directories wine can access and stuff, not things like dont download crap
SA-MP server. I'm leaning towards two different distros to try out after getting a bit bored of ubuntu; openSUSE and Fedora, which one would you guys recommend? Fedora has no cute mascot though, so it's already at a loss :3:

Isn't there a way in the terminal where I can set it so it has full permission to write to whatever it creates?
Is it normal to get this when using wine?
SELinux is preventing /usr/bin/wine-preloader from mmap_zero access on the memprotect Unknown.
All I have installed is the steam client, no games.
it's not linux and I don't suggest using it if you want to get anything done but MINIX has the coolest mascot ever
Which one isn't linux?
Which one isn't linux?
MINIX isn't Linux. all the ones you mentioned are Linux
MINIX isn't Linux. all the ones you mentioned are Linux
Oh right sorry I misread your comment, MINIX's mascot IS pretty damn adorable
Does UNetbootin creates a completely functional OS on a Usb drive, or what? Can't understand it from the description
Hello again I've downloaded Google Chrome, not Chromium, and apparently I have to install the Adobe Flash Player manually. So I go fetch it on Adobes website and I find myself with a file called "flashplayer11_b2_install_lin_64_080811.tar.gz" This is new to me and I try extracting it, but I only get more confused about this format, what do I do to install this to my Google Chrome? I've searched but all the methods I found were outdated. I'm on Ubuntu 11.04.

Youtube doesn't work, it tells me to go download Adobe Flash Player :tinfoil:
Youtube doesn't work, it tells me to go download Adobe Flash Player :tinfoil:
I assume you're still using 10.04. Open a terminal and type 'sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras' without quotes. You should have flashplayer.
No I mistyped first time, I am on 11.04 :)
No I mistyped first time, I am on 11.04 :)
Still the same procedure :v:
google chrome should have flash already, its chromium that doesnt
Isn't that Windows (and OS X?) only?
So am partway through downloading the openSUSE iso, will my laptops Intel Pentium T2310 1.43ghz processor and 2 gigs of RAM cope with it's supposedly rather heavy system load? I'm sure it will, just checking.
Is it normal to get this when using wine? All I have installed is the steam client, no games.
I got that yesterday too, same deal, Steam client without games
Youtube works now, however sound is greatly muffled. I wouldn't want to look into that right now unless it's a common issue and easily fixable? Anyway thanks FlamingSpaz :) I'm trying to install Microsoft Office 2010 using wine, works fine until about halfway through the installation process, where it stops and tells me an error occurred. I've looked at countless guides on the internet, but no cigar.
Well I'm sure Microsoft will get right on fixing WINE support.
Does UNetbootin creates a completely functional OS on a Usb drive, or what? Can't understand it from the description
It's basically an alternative to burning the distro's .iso to a disk so you can install from a USB drive rather than a CD/DVD.
As far as I can tell it is possible to get Office installed onto Ubuntu using Wine.
It's basically an alternative to burning the distro's .iso to a disk so you can install from a USB drive rather than a CD/DVD.
That's bad. What's the best software to install linux ON a usb drive, then?
Is anyone currently using Ubuntu 11.10
As far as I can tell it is possible to get Office installed onto Ubuntu using Wine.
Last time I tried that with '10 version, it didn't work at all.
Use Office 2008, works fine
Not everyone can afford to purchase another Office version, just to work on Linux.
Last time I tried that with '10 version, it didn't work at all. Not everyone can afford to purchase another Office version, just to work on Linux.
Ypu can get it free on dreamspark
That's bad. What's the best software to install linux ON a usb drive, then?
Just select your USB drive as the hard drive to install to. Make sure your bootloader is on the flash drive. After that, just stick it in to a computer and select the flash drive in BIOS when you boot.
