Wow, you're really fucking trying to stir up shit. Didn't you read the sticky? It applies to both sides, and you're rolling it out full fucking force. Most Apple users are very reasonable on here, but you're going around playing a fucking victim or something, get your act together.

I actually think it applies more to the title, and he would be somewhat right. You've just proven that they aren't lone idiots, though.
Can you actually write a sentence without swearing like an old sailor? I'm not playing the victim here, but you got to agree that if you go into many of the threads on the apple sub-forum(and everywhere else), theres an immense dissatisfaction over Apple and the people who buy Apple products. Why do people go into the apple sub-forum to slag off apple products. Most of this thread has been a discussion over inane things, that will never get anyone who prefers Apple products to "change" or what the hell people are trying to do. You're just as bad as the Mac-hipsters, throwing fuel to the fire so to say.
For example: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1122339
What's the point?

"You're"
You apparently still have the illusion that I'm bashing Apple mindlessly. In that thread I'm kinda attacking him for saying that he got "ripped off", while it's totally his own fault not to check the system requirements. The "Get a proper computer" is pretty harsh, but I don't think he would get a different answer if he posted from a PC with an Intel GMA, while saying he got ripped off. I swear a lot, and it really is a bad habbit. You say you didn't pretend to be a victim, but it seems that pretty much everyone else understood the post as "There will always be people hating for no real reason", while you take it as a personal attack or something. About the other thing; why would you want a sub-forum with one united voice? One of the thing about advice is, that you can get a lot of different opinions, and therefore make a more "informed" choice. If you went into a "What gaming laptop should buy"-thread and said MBP, you would be informed to get out, simply because it would be a bad choice. If you went into a hackintosh thread or something, and told him that he should simply invest in a "real" Mac because it's less of a hassle, and because he wants to run FCP, Logic or whatever, he might not take your advice, but you wouldn't get flamed out, either. If there was an Alienware sub-forum, people would probably ram their butts more so than in the Apple sub-forum. Just my 2 cents.
Heh, I'd completely forgotten about Alienware.. Maybe you're right.
I'd completely forgotten about Alienware.
Good, more people should.
I have an iPod touch 2G, and yeah, it's a good device, but apple are releasing a new model every year and constantly dropping support for the older ones.
But after the recent copyright bullshit from apple lately I'm not going to continue to buy their products, yeah, one person probably doesn't make a difference but I refuse to continue supporting these absolute dicks.
I can't forsee the Touch 4G getting any real improvements anytime soon, so I'm hoping mine will last awhile.
At least it's not 8GB and I can have all of my music on there.
I hate apple because it consists entirely of profit schemes. ex. Apple Ipod/Iphone 1-4
Every product in existance was to make money, though?
Every product in existance was to make money, though?
Yeah, but Apple does it in rip-off ways, like withholding features to release it as a new product just months later. Also, they charge twice as much for a crappier computer.

USB mass storage and an SD port are going to be so revolutionary!
Windows, Linux and Mac-OS - They are all Good. It is all personal choice. If you don't like a change then keep using the OS which you have been using forever.
I haven't tried Mac OS much but I can say that it feels great to try out new things.
Apples product are not Crappy. And I don't know why someone would say they are "crappy". Those products are great. But you can't really compare a single company to the hordes of other PC companies.
The only bad thing in Apple Products is that they are a little over-priced. So the decision goes to the consumer if the consumer can pay for that and wants to buy it then he can - if he wants to go with other products he can go with that. It is all personal choice.
But what I hate is some Mac users judge Window users as lowly. They have chosen what they liked and you have chosen what you wanted, so what is the problem with it. The "religion" that Mac users have created and they try to make you convert to it.
It doesn't matter if I can't buy it - What matters is "Do I WANT to buy it" and if that is "No" - I won't buy it and that doesn't really make me anything lower than the one who bought a Mac.
Battery Life: Android had better battery life
What?
What?
Yeah, I have to agree with you. The battery life is really poor on Android.
Yeah, I have to agree with you. The battery life is really poor on Android.
not from what ive seen first hand. My friend had an iPhone 4 and i have a salsung galaxy s, the galaxy s outlasted the iPhone
That's the problem with Android, it's experience is on a per-phone basis.
That's the problem with Android, it's experience is on a per-phone basis.
I would probably say that it's also its greatest strength.
I would probably say that it's also its greatest strength.
To that point, Windows Phone 7 is a good example of variety and closed-source hardware requirements.
But overall, Android has gotten better recently.
No one likes Mac because "WINDOWZZ SHOULD BE THE ONLY ONE!!" or "ITZZ DIFFERANT!". And some people only like Mac because "oh my god itz soo cool and better than windowz cause I said so". I think it's kind of dumb to fight over which is better, because each has it's pros and cons. IMO mac is better for creativity and design (Adobe products). But, that's just me.

I still contend that Apple products have a look and feel unlike any other laptop. Granted there are some better Windows laptops out there (I've seen some fucking nice Vaios) but the aluminum finish, slim profile and clean look are really something.
I consider myself pretty unbiased in comparison to a lot of people. I don't prejudice Apple products because Apple made them, I judge them on a case-by-case basis. I've never been one to say "Apple sucks" but rather "Apple's product Y, while very nice, is less cost effective than X product."

I can definitely understand that. No reason a laptop can't have great performance and look cool doing it. I just don't like the ones that look cool, but are complete shit. And of what I've seen, Mac has a pretty good balance of style and performance. I could be wrong though.
It's in the mix of closed software and hardware requirements. If you don't focus on scalability you can focus on performance.
Apple Laptops: Look good, work like shit.

I also noticed that geeky people like FP users primarily care about desktops, while average people only care about laptops (their only desktops are old ones).
Nerds just have different fundamental values on most things, such as what defines a computer to them.

Because we need the power in our machines, anything nowadays can browse Facebook.

Yeah I agree, so I think Facepunch's dislike of Apple products it justified, and the whole "OMG APPULL!!!" from the tech-illiterate media and bros and airheads at school is annoying, and seeing all tech sites have Jobs or Apple plastered on them and objectively saying Macs are better is agitating.
[editline]21st September 2011[/editline]
And let's not forget the elitist fanboys.
I'll always stand by my opinion that if Macs were more competitively priced, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
I'll always stand by my opinion that if Macs were more competitively priced, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Only for laptops. Fuck their desktops, the only ones that let you swap out hardware are the Mac Pros, and even then you need Mac versions of graphics cards and crap. Plus you can't change MoBos since it'd be a whole new system.
Spending shittons of cash on OSX every year or so gets annoying.
And I'm not buying a new iPhone just so I can play Snabbo.

Macs being better for "design" isn't actually true
It's just coincidental that the hipsters who love Macs also are a lot of your typical designers.
I have Photoshop and Illustrator on both a Mac and PC and its the same fucking thing
If anything it's easier on PC because Mac has ridiculous shortcut keys.
Macs were generally regarded as being better for design as their colour reproduction + calibration and typography was miles ahead of Windows at the time (and still were until Vista really). Mac OS X's graphics layer is also built around PDF, so basically every app can save and load PDF out the box (something which given the mass spate of Adobe Reader vulnerabilities is quite nice). Nowadays the difference is largely nothing other than the PDF support but it's not just a weird quirk that Macs are prevalent in design circles
