On the subject of software to help your PC, are there any addons for Firefox that are worth installing?
I already have the basics though (FireFTP, Greasemonkey, Stylish, AdBlockPlus, WOT)
lastpass (password manager), gvoice, calendar, gmail, RES if you reddit, social fixer if you facebook, priceblink (for coupons), BBlog for battlefield3
I swear by LastPass. XMarks is by the same company and syncs bookmarks between computers and browsers so I trust that as well.
NoScript can be a useful and powerful tool for security, even if you disable the script blocking capability.
Anything here can be useful for privacy and security.

Also, I found an extension that I believe to be superior to Web of Trust.

It's similar to WoT, but it aggregates scores from a myriad of sources, including WoT. This includes services that scan for viruses so it's more reliable I think.

Really easy grep tool for Windows, because searching file contents with Windows search is terrible.

Windows search does the same thing.
SequoiaView is handy to get a visual representation of what's taking up your hard disk space:

Useful software to enhance your computer...
Well, I fully recommend Linux 3.12-rc3, makes your machine run way faster.

Not entirely. I find Launchy's name search to be a lot more forgiving and quicker.
i.e. With Launchy, I can mistype "Psop" for Photoshop. While with W7 search, I can't.
Application paths are also stored so launch menus pop up much faster.
Tie this in with the fact that it's also a directory browser and it becomes really powerful with other tools like text-expansion.
Launchy + PhraseExpress/AutoHotkey make for very easy access to frequently used folders.
If I need to get into my ".../dropbox/photos", I can just type something like ":dbp".
