How did you do that? That's not in caps. :colbert:

Actually, Jack needs a great deal of help shitting. His poo pushing powers are directly tied to the number of people doing the capital alphabet chat. :v:
Everyone has already answered your question. Macro keys, n-key rollover, stupid gimmicky backlit keys. What more do you want?
So those are the only advantages of a gaming keyboard? :sigh:
I was hoping someone would give me a good enough reason to buy a gaming keyboard.

Oh, he told me it doesn't though.
I use a Razer Arctosa over a standard keyboard because it's so much more smooth compared to stock ones. I can type as much as I like and it manages to get everything down perfectly, where as my old keyboard would have problems ghosting and leaving out letters.

I'm pretty sure the quality of your keyboard is not only determined by this test.
None of my $5 keyboards ever had ghosting issues. Why would you pay more for the same thing?
The only time you can justify spending a ton of money on a keyboard is if the keyboard is mechanical and solidly built (see: Model M, Unicomp, Filco, keyboards that will last a lifetime and never wear out and give the same tactile feel at all times.) Any other time, you're just shooting yourself in the foot for backlighting and extra buttons.
That's exactly what I don't want to do.
But Razer... I suppose I could put Razer stickers on my keyboard.

I have a razer lycosa

Pretty gimmicky as far as gaming keyboards look, but I guess most "gaymen" keyboards are pretty nice. You'll usually have illumination and nicer keys, for instance mine has rubberized keys which are really nice. Not only that they're scissor switch keys so they're nice, easy, and responsive.

Dang default HP Keyboard thing. I want a new keyboard and mouse eventually, the ones that came with my computer (didn't buy a prebuilt of my own desire mind you, was emergency replacement) aren't cutting it.
Though fun things happen when I hold down two letter keys at once.

It usually helps in mmo games, for example when I'm playing I will be most likely pressing all these around the same time: W,A,Shift,F,1,2 so it does come in handy if your that type of gamer.

G11 is a very good keyboard my only fault with it is that the keys can get a bit noisy.

I have a Deck Legend, I got it because it is a mechanical keyboard with backlighting and n-key rollover. It weights around 3 lbs and could be used as a weapon in a zombie apocalypse. I hate chiclet style keyboards. A key shouldn't be completely flat, the cylindrical shape is the standard and is the best imo.
THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPED OVER THE LAZY DOG
is the alphabet test, it has every letter of the alphabet in it one time.
A real test for key rollover is Microsoft's online tester
I like the LEDs because I suck at typing and prefer to look at then, so at night it is helpful. I know there are other keyboards that have LEDs, but when you can pick up a G110 on sale for $40, why not?
Razer makes absolutely terrible quality keyboards. This is coming from a person that likes Razer in general. My Lycosa broke within six months of using it and half of the keycaps were worn off by that time. The only real advantages of the Lycosa over other keyboards are that it is backlit and it has low-profile keys, and virtually every modern keyboard (unfortunately) has the latter these days. It's general knowledge that Razer makes extremely weak and cheaply made products. I guess I'm just lucky to have had a functioning Diamondback for two years and a Lachesis for one (so far.)
In comparison, my father's NEC APC-H412 (an old mechanical keyboard) has no worn keycaps, has mechanical switches, has full n-key rollover (because there's a diode under each key, I can mash half the keyboard down and still type on the other half), and is extremely robust. The keyboard itself is about 20+ years old now. The only disadvantage is that it doesn't look pretty.
Indeed. Razer makes some amazing mice, but some of their pads and most of their keyboards and audio equipment is rather shoddily made, ironic considering people would certainly pay upward of 300-400 for a razer branded T or cherry KB without even asking about specs. To top it off, their mechanicals tend to lose the key coating within months. They're just badly made, simple as. If you game or type more than 3-4 hours a day, Razer is not the brand for you. I have to disagree, I've had my lycosa for 2 years and its the best keyboard I've had. The rubberized keys have worn a little but the keyboard still works fine after 2 years. I recently bought a unicomp customizer after hearing the hype about them, and I still prefer the lycosa.
