I've recently switched out my wireless card in my desktop to the Asus PCE-AC55BT. However, after setting the card up and installing the newest drivers from the site, windows still refuses to recognize the card at all. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, repairing the drivers and even trying old ones just to make sure. When I look in device manager, it only shows up as a completely unknown device, unable to accept any drivers at all even after manually pointing to the directory.
This issue doesn't extend to Linux though, where it works completely fine, so I know at least that the card itself isn't broken or anything.
Is this a common issue with Windows or the card or something, or am I just doing something wrong?
Not really any help, but I'm surprised that windows doesn't even fallback to a generic driver
