My PC went from delivering 90 mA to ~600-700 mA at 4.2V. This is a USB 3 port.
Is this safe?

USB is 5V default, +200mV or -600mV tolerance on 2.0, you're 200mV below the minimum.
Either the cable's a piece of shit so it's dropping all the voltage along the length of it, or there's some weird current limiting on the USB port of your computer instead of it just shutting the port down like it's supposed to.

Can't physically access both computers at once due to extreme space limitations. Moonlight thus far is the only thing that I've encountered that can do it but GOD it breaks if you sneeze at it wrong.

My Surface Pro 1's power cover is having some major issues, the trackpad isn't working properly at all and I'm getting sticky keys sometimes without the physical keys being sticky, the battery seems to always read zero whenever I disconnect and reconnect it and requires charging again. Also when I connect it I get this in my safe eject:

Damn. Both Type and Power covers are hard as hell to get for this thing for a reasonable price now. That's really unfortunate, as my Type Cover's keys are busted to shit. This Power Cover works okay, keyboard wise, except for occasional sticky command keys, but the trackpad and battery are kaput. Is it finally time to lay my poor Surface Pro 1 to rest?
