Did it at least block youtube ads? Those are the most annoying
Guys, maybe you can help a dude out. My brother got a new battery for his phone (Moto G4 I think, not super sure) and if it's on a charger, it's fine. The moment he tries to use it normally, however, it goes into a bootloop. The old battery doesn't give any problems.
Get Youtube Vanced to block Youtube ads
Grabbed the Xiaomi Mi A2 a few weeks back, and damn can this phone do some pretty bokeh. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/110070/3f852ac4-aa5d-45cf-bf34-6f49fc390b85/image.png
Is the phone rooted? What ROM? Did he change the kernel (I suspect it's a kernel issue). If the answer is no and he's running stock Android, maybe it's time to install a custom ROM like LineageOS, maybe it could fix the issue. I had a friend who had a similar problem, though we couldn't find what caused it. His phone wouldn't boot, it would get stuck in the boot logo. It was a S5, so I tried reflashing the stock firmware. Didn't work, so I installed Lineage and it worked.
No, definitely not.
My girlfriend got me a a Galaxy S6 for christmas and so far I'm kinda disappointed. I used to have a cheapo galaxy core and I liked how straightforward and clear it was. With my new S6 I had issues with advertisements playing upon unlocking the phone, some were unsuitable 10 sec ads that wouldn't let me unlock the phone until the ad finished playing. I also have issues with notifications, I get tons of notifications about things like YouTube subs and news but for some reason half of the time my actual sms messages get buried beneath tons of unnecessary FB and youtube notifications.
yeah that's not factory new
If it keeps doing that even after a factory reset then there's a dodgy ROM installed. See if you can find a vanilla one to flash it back to.
Signed up 3 days ago, what do you think my chances are>
I'm looking to upgrade from my OnePlus One but I don't want to pay 400+ for an used phone. I'd mostly use it for music, photos, and messaging. I want none of that curved bezel screen crap and I need a headphone jack. Hopefully 1080p because I see no point in going above that. LG G6 seems like a good pick for my needs, any suggestions?
I wouldn't recommend an LG phone honestly, unless you get one of the V-series (and even then...no software updates lol) Is a 1st gen Pixel in your price budget, maybe? Or maybe a OnePlus 5T?
Check some Xiaomi phones. If you want absolute maximum screen space, check either Mi Mix or Mi Max (yes, they both exist). There's also some Huawei phones that are under $400 and can be pretty good. If you don't mind for mid range specs, go for a Motorola G series phone.
Anyone got a recommendation for an Android smart watch this isn't going to break the bank, like $120 or lower.
You can find a lot of refurb samsung smart watches for around that price.
How can I get stuff off a phone with a non functioning display?
how do i turn this shit off on my galaxy note 9? https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/110042/ab03cd31-a8f7-48b9-af43-e6f0d8907ce6/0.jpg i turned this off, then on with the slider maxed out all the way to the right and neither changed anything https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/110042/9d19c095-9f11-48b6-a73d-4964e049f247/1.jpg
I don't think you can, it's some kind of safety requirement
I've always just had a Straight Talk $45/month plan with whatever unlocked phone I had at the time, but now my family is looking into other plans. They want to look for one of those Samsung deals with like 4 phones and 4 plans, but I have no idea how to even start researching these. My biggest questions are: When the phone itself is paid off, are those "carrier unlock" sites legitimate? Is there a better way to unlock something like a Galaxy S9 from AT&T? Is it even worth leaving our $45/month plan and buying our own unlocked phones? What are the best deals for family plans and phones (4 phones/lines) in the Android space? Thank you for any info because I'm pretty lost.
That shit's annoying. Even more annoying was the seemingly random automatic volume decrease to a "safe" level, though that handy feature seems to have disappeared now. I have shit hearing and at the "safe" level I can kind of tell what song is playing and the good level is just above the warning.
I've been using StraightTalk for years and I love it. I also don't care if I have the newest phone so I buy a ~$150 phone every few years and I'm happy as hell
Paranoid Android is back https://www.xda-developers.com/paranoid-android-android-pie-rom-xiaomi-poco-f1-xiaomi-mi-8-xiaomi-mi-6-xiaomi-mi-5-xiaomi-mi-mix-2s/ Also ResurrectionRemix and AICP Pie are coming soon
Don't worry AOSPA will become irrelevant when they don't make any new releases until early 2020 again
I'm not saying we should go back to the days of guady themes. But I do miss them, how some were legendarily poor taste.
You know, I've grown to like the features MIUI has. I'm going to miss them when this phone gets official Lineage support. I just wish I had more control (e.g. the ability to uninstall apps).
I have the Note 8 and I don't think you can turn this off. But this warning (for volume and brightness) Only pops up once per reboot. So unless you turn your phone off a lot it's not a huge problem.
You can use a custom ROM if it bothers you that much. Beyond that, yeah there's not really anything you can do.
IIRC you can't root/unlock Galaxy phones from the last few generations in the US so I don't even think that's an option
I mean, I did it years ago on my Galaxy S4. You could be right, though.
I'm pretty sure you can, otherwise people wouldn't be able to install xposed and magisk like they are used to, and which they keep doing it.
