I've been looking for that, but the short version is that Widevine is tied directly to the SoC, so anything you do within Android doesn't seem to work. Netflix just simply streams in 560p because it detects Widevine's security level is demoted to L3 for one reason or another. There are a set of encryption keys on the phone which now can't be read anymore as long as the bootloader is unlocked.
Just received and setup my S10+, fantastic looking phone. Slapped a soft case on it, and the screen seems to have a protector installed by default by samsung. Will give cameras a go in a couple hours.
Does anyone have any experience with flashing Samsung software through Odin? I'm wondering if I can flash firmware from a different country than the one from where the phone comes from
Be careful your phone doesn't have different hardware to that of firmware its designed for.
I know that our S8+ variant is the G955F, same as the european model
Here's a guide:

You can get firmwares off XDA, if you search your model number on there.
trustworthy to you != trustworthy to netflix for making it easier for you to screencap off your phone and upload to pirate bay
I understand that, but I still think it is ridiculous for one program to have so much control of its users. You have to use their DRM plugin, use their propriety application, and give up the ability to modify your system just to access the best version of the content you're paying for. There's a clear imbalance of power here, Netflix is exerting a unreasonable amount control of it's users.
Blame Tim Berners-Lee for approving and making DRM a HTML5 feature.
If your device actually has widevine L1 support, and trust keys aren't deleted for your phone when the bootloader is unlocked (like Sony phones), then all you need to do for HD Netflix is pass Safetynet, use Magisk, enable MagiskHide, check in Magisk if you're passing safetynet, if not, use MagiskHide Props config to pass it
hot damn, just unlocked my bootloader, flashed lineage, flashed the 9.2.25 dev firmware, flashed lineage again, flashed opengapps, and it all worked first try on my poco f1
i'm surprised i didn't fuck it up
Help my phone is too big lineage thinks it's a tablet when I go landscape
Is it worth flashing a custom rom on the 6T? The default seems super solid.
Isn't there generally a dpi/density setting during initial setup for that? Check settings perhaps, or set it via adb?
Yeah, I have it set to "smaller" because otherwise everything looks weird but the keyboard is still way to big for some reason.

You can reduce the keyboard height in the settings
Not with AOSP keyboard

When Android was first released, it relied on physical buttons for navigation. Later releases moved these to the bottom of the screen, but their function mostly remained the same. With Pie, Google introduced a new gesture-based navigation, which still relies on a back key. As part of its Good Lock ecosystem, Samsung lets you redesign your Galaxy, including its interface and lock screen.

Anyone in here used the small S8/S9 or maybe even the S10e? I'm mostly concerned about battery life on them, im hoping for 6+hrs on just normal web browsing and stuff, with dark themes and everything
Does anybody have a samsung tablet and tried doing Samsung DeX? I own a Samsung Tab S4 (the latest version) and I can't seem to get the 1440p option to work. I know you can use the official DeX dock/whatever but it doesn't work for a tablet (right?). Just wanted to check with ya'll if you know anything about this since googling only comes up with actual phones, not tablets.
I have the Pixel 3 which has a 2915mAh battery, the S8/9 have 3000 so I feel like the comparison would be close enough.
Yesterday I got 4 hours of SOT which included a full day of tracking 20k steps in my pocket with spotty WiFi and cell at work, and around 2 hours of Spotify with a Bluetooth earbud connected. No dark themes, a dynamic wallpaper, 50% brightness, and ambient display on. Take that as you will.
Can someone recommend me a phone capable of games like Pokemon go that's budget friendly like $500-600 aud
My HTC 10 is shitting itself, dying at 40%, battery is stuffed
Yeah Xiaomi works fine here on most bands
Anyone else here with a 6T find there's a noticeable delay on the fingerprint sensor?
Think I'll either go Mi mix 2 or Mi 9 I guess. Maybe pocophone if the other two ate unavailable
There's an occasional delay for me. Nothing too serious, but I'd recommend scanning the same finger twice which makes it somewhat faster than usual.
got my razer phone 2 in today, such an upgrade from my 50$ zte phone. really smooth and crisp.
What do you guys recommend to checkb attery usage? I'm getting down to 50% after 5 hours of use in my Poco F1, I want to check what's causing it. I'm not rooted.
The battery usage monitor doesn't show useful stuff. The graph shows a brownish green for mobile network but I haven't used LTE since I removed it from the charger.

Battery historian is generally your best bet. Grab a bug report from developer settings and upload it here.
If you're paranoid, host it yourself
