This is tragic, that phone was such a great find for me.
The Pixel 3a is excellent, it ticks all your boxes except for expandable memory.
Alright, I did this. I really don't have that much more time to flip flop on a phone decision- mine's ability to receive signal has seriously deteriorated over the last month and nothing I've done has worked. Hopefully this phone will last 5 years like my current OnePlus One did.
Nice, I hope you love it. If you take pictures often, you'll adore it. The camera on my Pixel 3 is so good that it actively makes me want to go out and take pictures of things, even at night when other phone cameras start eating paste in the corner. Also keep in mind that to compensate for the lack of expandable storage, activating a Pixel on your Google account automatically grants you unlimited storage space in Google Photos, so make good use of that feature.
This is hands down the best feature of the Pixels. They do reduce the photos from original quality, but for day to day snaps, it's great.
The 3a stores Photos backups in reduced quality. The Pixel 3 stores its backups at original quality. The difference is there but doesn't matter too much for most people.

Am I the only one that thinks 1+ has become a premium brand? I mean, why the fuck do people still claim their phones as "flagship killer" when it's priced the same as a "flagship" phone? Literally can't understand how a $679 chinese phone is seen as the killer of a similarly priced top-tier phone. Not complaining about it being chinese, quality, etc, but if you're spending $679, why not buy an actual premium phone instead of a false flagship killer?
Because including the current flagship chip does not a premium flagship make. OnePlus just figured they could make a "flagship" phone, with the usual bells and whistles, even better than the likes of Samsung currently are while still undercutting them in price. From what I've heard and read, they have. And they are still making a more affordable phone with the non pro version.
US availability is a big thing in 1+'s favor. The Poco F1 isn't available in the US and even if imported it's basically useless on half the carriers out here. It's also still a lot cheaper than most of the current flagships unfortunately. Really, the Pixel 3a is probably more of a flagship killer despite its midrange specs and all. The camera is killer and something that's greatly neglected in that price range.
Yeah it is quite a bit cheaper than a number of flagships and has some stuff you don't even find in them like a 90hz display (which matters to me a lot after using a 165hz one). A paid a fuck ton more for my Pixel 2 XL with 128GB of storage when it released.
OnePlus is still undercutting flagships, hence the "flagship killer" tagline, but they're no longer affordable.
The 3a does look like a good option but it has a dated design, even budget chinese phones are going all screen, and the performance is a worry. I've heard a lot about even the regular Pixel, with its top of the line specs, suffering from slowdown and lag. That doesn't bode well for the 3a.
I'm just ecstatic the 3a isn't a fucking glass sandwich. I honestly expected them to make it a glass sandwich design and then leave it with an even worse CPU/less storage to balance the increased BoM. It would be nice to see a 128GB option though, yeah.
This. I remember last year some guy from XDA wrote an article about how OnePlus keeps being the "flagship killer", but it's become as expensive as a flagship phone. Regarding premium look. I don't need glass back or other stupid things that try to justify why a phone is expensive. Mi 9 is a flagship and it's nowhere near the $600 price tag. You can find other phones that are cheaper than the OnePlus and have a premium look. Too bad US carriers use bands that the rest of the world doesn't use, otherwise Xiaomi would've been successful there.
And then those of us on Verizon have even fewer options.
I was wondering if there's a possible way to improve the sound quality on my phone. I use a Samsung J3 Prime and when I'm in phone calls it sounds kind of low quality so if there's any possible way to improve it that'd be nice.
Have you checked the audio settings? Seems like that phone got just Android 6 and I'm not that familiar with that version of touchwiz sadly
Where do I find that at?
You should find it right away in settings, might be named "Sounds and Vibration" unless Samsuns made some change in One UI to the names
Is it in under "Sound Quality and Effects?"
Might be, as I said I'm not that familiar with Android 6 Touchwiz so you might want to experiment there
Checked my phone and I don't have it. I'll go download it.
Hold up download what I checked your phone in GSMArena and it seems to just have the Android 6 update, what I meant was that i wasn't familiar with the type of skin (touchwiz) that Samsung had at that time in Android 6
Should I also update the Samsung Galaxy app to get it or nah? I'm sorry if I'm being an absolute idiot .
nonono you see Samsung's version of Android 6 IS Touchwiz, so you already have it But it wouldn't hurt to check it you have software updates, that setting should be at the bottom
Checking my phone now it's Android 7. So I should still have it ye?
