Probably unpopular opinion: TN is fine
what the fuck does it mean when i have a ahva IPS
Cause my XB271HU looks beautiful
I have two ASUS VG248QE monitors, and one of them is turned vertically. TN is not fine for that. There's some pretty bad issues looking at it from angles other than landscape head-on.
TN has ugly colours
I think that's just a marketing buzzword some company came up with. It's IPS.
AHVA is actual panel technology, just like IPS-Pro, AH-IPS.
It's basically AU Optronics take on IPS (apparently):
144Hz IPS-type Panels Developed
So today I found out that there are some sites that have a DevTools detector and can reload the page without certain elements as long as you have them open.
Huh.

Gonna either be 7nm Instinct GPUs or Zen 2 update I think
My money is on the Zen roadmap. But that's also because I have near 0 interest in 7nm Vega.
I still don't understand the purpose of the iPad Pro.
Who the heck is its target market, professionals who don't get any work done?
At least Surfaces have a niche in that they're ultraportable laptops, but the ipad pro falls right in the range of 'too small to be a good laptop' and 'too big to be a good tablet' for me.
Christ Apple's ARM chips are beastly.
And it will be the final blow to the Mac having any pretense at being a professional platform.
as long as
FCPX
Adobe CC
MS Office
work, they’ll be fine. Besides, the PPC->Intel move wasn’t bad at all, Intel machines ran every single PPC app out there at least as fast as a G5.
Do you ever leave your cheap $80 Android tablet unused for two months, then turn it on, only to forget your unlock pattern? Because apparently I do.
How much of this is x86's 40 years worth of baggage? I mean of course it's impressive, but I'm wondering.
take the back cover off and put a post-it of the pattern inside. Too much effort for Joe Shmoe to go to but if you’re really stuck it would be worth it.
Can't take the back cover off, it's a Lenobo Tab3-850F.
Couldn't get it directly into recovery mode to use adb/fastboot to reset, so I had stumbled through all of the chinese-only options in the factory mode. Literally half of the options in factory mode are for hardware testing, and they want to test the speakers with the loudest sine waves possible. I think I found the right factory reset one though, we'll see if it explodes or not.
Not much. x86 instruction decoders are a bit bigger but not by much, and it doesn't slow things down any since anything too difficult/uncommon to implement just decodes to a chain of uops. Most x86 instructions just map to a single uop though, the decoding is mostly making them fixed-length, and taking the weird addressing modes and turning them into actual arithmetic uops. Like "mov rax, [rbp + rdx*8]" will encode as one x86 instruction, but will turn into shift, add, and load uops.
Also ARM is thirty years old and has some really weird old features of its own, like shift arguments for nigh everything. So it wouldn't have much of an advantage anyways.
Looking to buy a new tablet for streaming netflix, films and twitch any amazon recomendations?
My old as fuck Fire Kindle has finally bricked it, don't plan on getting another kindle since there isn't a youtube app lmao
Are Amazon and Google really still that salty? Gods damn.
Fire Tablets are possibly the worst thing I've ever used.
Tablets in general were a mistake.
hot take
Tablets are good for kids, but what isn't good is a insanely locked down OS where the stock apps take up 90% of the storage and it complains about lack of free space literally after a factory reset.
I've wasted so many hours of my life trying to get enough space for my sisters to install a 50mb game without the tablets locking up.
I can take my Surface Pro 2 to a jam, plug the headphone jack into an amp and a MIDI dongle into the USB port, and rock out as hard as it is humanly possible to rock out with a keytar.
I mean mostly I just use it to watch Youtube videos while shitting, just like every tablet, but I do occasionally unleash the thunder.
It really just might be my experience with them, but I feel as if they aren't portable and after a few months of use the battery shits its self for no apparent reason.
My original Nexus 7 from 2012 still had amazing battery. Until I gave it to my mom, then it lasts like 2 hours and now barely holds a charge. It lasted days for me even up until ~2 years ago. It's amazing what letting a device go dead to 1% battery all the time does to a battery.
my iPhone 4 from 2010 still holds a great charge. iOS 5 runs like butter.
