Sipwicket got me a $16 smart watch for free
doesn't seem like it was so smart after all.
sad day
tfw i got a cheap gtx 680 off of swefox before he went crazy.
I got a nice mobo, 8GB DDR3 and a 2600k from him for next to nothing. I suspect he was trying to scam me at first since he refused to give me tracking details since he said it stopped tracking after it left his country. I somehow actually got it.
So we use a layer mask to remove the background of an image in photoshop and export it to a PNG. Uploading that image to twitter, shows the removed background https://tenryuu.blob.core.windows.net/astrid/2018/10/18-10-04_01-40-16.webm Is this a known phenomenon? Interestingly enough, this is the second time I've seen this, first one was from an image I downloaded off 4chan god knows when https://twitter.com/Scrxtchy/status/1031111330797838336
Maybe whatever exporter you're using keeps all the RGB data for transparent pixels, and then whatever software is displaying it "wrong" is just stripping the alpha channel. AIUI exporters are "supposed" to clean up fully-transparent pixels, to compress them better... maybe look for an "Export (Optimized)" option or something?
Tier 2 forgets to install software a user previously had after Win10 upgrade, then says we don't install software without a request form and manager approval. gg
I think my car battery died or there is an issue with the starting system. Physically removed the battery and I have it on one of my hobby chargers to see if it's dropping a lot outside the car. It went from 12.7v to 12.4 in about 2 hours sitting connected to the car. So there may be an electrical issue. Maybe I should just buy a new car...
You know what I really hate about being under an NDA when working for a company? You can't vent about more than a half of your work and can't really do any specifics. I've been there for almost two months and if I'm not stressed and filled with anxiety because of too many tasks on me or having to do shit on site with people that keep asking you shit you have no idea about, it's the constant hum of anxiety when I'm sitting in the office with no tasks to do, all reports checked and the excel spreadsheet where I'm supposed to write what I do every 30 minutes is half empty and gonna get scolded for doing jack shit at the next meeting while there's actually nothing to do. Lets see how long they will tolerate my anxiety riddled shit before firing me for absolutely cocking up something or not doing enough job. Just in case I also got responsibility insurance for 1500 Eur in damages because I WILL fuck up something really badly anytime soon. Also legit fuck Dell technical support over the phone. The Slovak support number for tech supports puts you to a Polish operator speaking Czech and they have some busted phone line. Only time I got redirected to someone who spoke proper Slovak was when I got redirected due of problem escalation.
this place gave me a place of belonging and matured me up in lots of ways btw I love you all you nerds
i'm in the same boat. can't even talk about my work project in any sort of detail, except the technologies i work with. such is life in defense contracting
One of two things: you have a dropped cell in the battery, or there's a ghost draw. If you have access to another same CCA battery that you know is good and can swap in overnight, do it. Check the voltage on it before and after 8 hours. Some small residual draw is normal. Also, check what it's at when the vehicle is running and the alternator is turning. It should be between 13.7 and 14.1 roughly. Also, what kind of car do you have? I do diagnostics and support for repair on tractor trailers all day, and may be able to walk through some basic diagnostics with you.
It may be both, but at a minimum the battery is bad. It's just over 2years old, after the other one died after 2 years. It drops from 12.8 to 12.4 in about 2-3 hours. And when I put a 20Amp load on it, it takes only 10 seconds or so to drop below 9v so it's bad. So I'm going to pick up a replacement tomorrow, but I do want to check the voltage of my alternator, it might be too high causing damage to the battery, though all the levels seem fine after all this time. I think the alternator uses some sort of sensing cable to the battery which might be why the voltage is off, was like 14.8v at the battery when I started the car, but will let it idle for a bit to see where it lands. 2001 Ford Focus zx3

14.8 can be normal when its trying to charge the battery, and yours is seriously discharged. I'm not sure how tightly regulated voltage is on the early Focus. But its at the very upper limit of what is considered safe. Usually it will go down once the battery charges a bit, or you swap out the bad battery. If that voltage goes any higher though, the regulator in your alternator is shot. I would wait to pass any judgement on it until you get the battery fixed. Its much easier to troubleshoot with a healthy battery.
Yea that's what I was thinking. Putting a battery in the thing which barely holds a charge may be causing the Alternator to act oddly. At a minimum I need a new battery to use the car, so I'll just need to get a new car within about 18months to avoid needing to mess with the alternator.
Also trying to charge up the battery every time it dies can put huge strain on your alternator and kill it after a little while. It's not meant to charge a battery from death every time you start the car, just top it off while driving.
I don't leave my car undriven for more than a few days so it's not sitting in storage or anything. I don't commute, but I do drive to get food and groceries and such. So I mean as far as I know my battery has been fully charged since I got it. I don't even sit in my car with the radio running besides a couple minutes.
That's good. I was under the impression it was dying completely, so you're groovy.
Gotta love when IT has to call IT for the ticketing software because it just died. 2 hours of hand written tickets wooo
So far my car has never not started since I've had this battery. But a couple days ago it was turning over slowely, so I took it out, checked the voltage, etc. Then I charged it up with my dedicated charger right up to the top. Then ran a fake 15-20Amp load and it plummeted in voltage which to me means it's shit.
Speaking of cars, we needed to move my old Jeep back a few feet after sitting for 10 years to make room for something but it wouldn't start (seemed like it wasn't getting any fuel) If you ever want to hear an angry engine, try running one with 10 year old oil on starter fluid and ask it to do anything It was knocking harder than a Jehovah's Witness on an early Sunday morning, but it did move
No you'll just lose the whole frame to rust if you live anywhere that salts.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, screw a LS swap, just stroke a 4.0 AMC 6 and slap a small turbo on it and you'll have one of the most reliable engines ever, and it will have more than enough torque to have fun with.
I wish I had my own garage and I'd totally buy an electric car right now. But my entire family parks outside since our garage is storage for stuff we haven't used in 20 years. Like most people.
Just have an external charging point? That's what pretty much everyone has over here.

I believe our HOA forbids that kind of thing. Also in our neighborhood I'd imagine it'd be stolen or something.
