Took apart a 2015 LG LED TV with a dead backlight. All 4 strips were busted. Read about it, it seems that LG runs them at a higher voltage to have a brighter backlight.

Well truthfully it was a gift, but... Whole thing is falling apart, ear piece covers disintegrating and all. Classic cable gunge here, I'm thinking the covering and the stuff inside is chemically reacting to each other and just turning into copper oxide goop. I've since covered the place in the first picture up with medical gauze and tape, electrical tape kept just sloughing off. Amusingly enough I know someone who has the exact same headset (Corsair Void RGB) and has had it for just about the same amount of time with the same amount of usage and he doesn't have either of these problems. Either I got a nice lemon or I'm cursed. Probably the latter because I've had two pairs of Sennheisers in the past, you know, the supposed go-to, and they fell apart rather rapidly as well, the first pair had an ear snap clean off and the second's cable covering split and was coming off entirely. Not like the above, but still. I take special care of all my stuff, I don't throw them, drop them, or let the cables twist on themselves, and they all do shit like this anyway. What the fuck.
My AKG K514 is still trucking along. Ever since I said fuck it, I'm not buying another headset ever again, I haven't had to replace my headphones.
Wish it were that way for me, both my previous pair of headphones were suggested to me by Facepunch in the past and while they sounded all really good, they didn't last any longer than anything else I had before or after them. In terms of audio equipment I really do seem to have really shit luck. Earbuds no matter the price, quality, or brand die on me within months, sometimes weeks, so often that I just say "fuck this" and purchase $5 Gummi thingies whenever I need them. I've got a pile of dead microphones of varying quality. Should probably throw those away... I've gone through 4 headphones/headsets in the span of 5 years and this Corsair thing is about to be #5. This is the only shit I truly have some awful luck with, I have the same level of care and preventative maintenance with everything else I own and it all lasts forever. The audio Gods despise me.
I'm still using my AKG Q701s I got in like 2013, I had to re-solder a wire that came lose in the left earcup, and replace the 3.5mm cable (luckily it has a jack on the headphones themselves). And of course the earpads got replaced too, those can get a good 3-4 years out depending on your biology, environment, and how often you clean em. Other than that though, I've really loved these things. And you should be able to get similar life out of other $150+ headphones.
Protip. Get cans with replaceable cables. Both my AKG K240's and K702's have lasted many, many, many years despite having similar luck with audio equipment, where if they had fixed cables they'd have lasted a year at most.
Is there a way to remap a mouse's DPI clutch to something else?
Sounds like a good idea in theory, but... it doesn't help much when it's not always the cables that go bad, like I said in my original post about an entire ear snapping off on a pair of Sennheisers. No amount of cable replacement or re-soldering was gonna fix that. Same with all the standalone mics that had the actual mic part go bad (see also: ear rape everyone in a voice chat with high pitched buzzing just by plugging it in sort of "go bad") rather than the cable itself. It'd fix only one of three ways it usually goes wrong for me. I straight up don't buy anything high quality anymore in the audio department because it ends up being a huge waste. Better to just save money when they all die fast no matter what I do.
I did that. There's no "rebind" option there.
Can't tell you much more, I've had good luck with my high-end stuff, the only things I've had die are my cheaper Sony headphones (<$50) and my ~$60 Sennheiser earbuds. My microphones have also done well, MXL 990, MXL BCD-1.
welp, going to need a custom driver then
So my venerable 6950 just gave out - or well, its temperature sensor did, which means forced 100% fan for all eternity. Which with a single fan model is basically completely unbearable for more than 30 seconds. Guess I got that GPU upgrade I sorta wanted but couldn’t really justify forced on me. Unless I learn to live with this 4830 lol.
I think you need a new GPU.
Yeah, it would seem so. Gonna loan my friend's GTX 970 tomorrow. I'll see if I can keep it until the next generation of GPUs come out, I'd feel kinda kinda stupid not having sprung for the RX 4/580 for the last two years (more, if you consider how old that architecture - minus the lithography - really is), and then have to now out of necessity. Kinda insane that my 6950 was from 2010, though, and to be honest I could live with this 4830 for a little while if it weren't for the fact that I can't get it to run my screen's native resolution.
It's been a while since I removed it myself. I think you just delete those links and add a direct bookmark yourself, there's no way to "convert" a search shortcut into a link.
My Notebook's License is w10 Home SL, and now all my C# errors are in Portuguese and I can't fucking change my language to English Holy fucking shit I hate Microsoft so much, what sort of stupid ass limitation is this? Is this a region lock?
That`s such an user unfriendly pile of trash tho
Happy New Year sipwicket!
I'm sorry Who's the fuckface at valve who implemented this? https://tenryuu.blob.core.windows.net/astrid/2019/01/19-01-01_20-20-40.webm
The SL in Windows 10 Home SL means Single Language, that edition can't change the display language with a language pack.
