a man of culture, I see I've never used hyperglides but I might consider it when I buy my G305!!
With my bungie on my gaming desktop I don't have any drag issues, but every other system is wireless. And yeah my stock zowie feet wore pretty quick on my old mouse pad so I got these when I switched.
That's the one I have, bought it because it was one of the cheaper XXL pads available and it does the job just fine. It felt a tad slick at first but you get used to it and the surface also gets worn a little over time which makes it pretty much perfect. I'm not talking any visible damage, it just gets slightly roughed up like any textile would. In terms of cleaning, it's pretty easy to swipe off most dust or crumbs, but you'll still want to wash it once in a while. No way of getting around that with a cloth pad.

Haven't needed to get any new mouse pads since I got my 4HD (ok, I bought a second one when I thought I lost my first one...) in like 2011. With how well these hold up, I probably won't need a new one until I'm in my 40s.
I just throw my QCK's into the washing machine once a month or so and swap to my spare one. I toss it in a shirt or one of those laundry bags then hang to dry. It's probably destroyed the surface of the pad but at least they aren't disgusting looking.
Instead of spending money on a new case should I just reuse my current one? Just would need to clean it. https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16811139009
No need at all to buy a new case unless you want to have a shell for your old parts to go in.
Or I mean if you're just bored of your current case.
If I can cut cost wherever I can I will.
I "built" a alienware desktop for a buddy once, had Phenom II X6 1090T in it and SLI 9800GTX's, took those out and tossed in a spare 6870. I got the desktop for free from another buddy who also got it free. Pretty sure his little brother put a 1060 in it and still uses it. This thing reeked of cat piss and cig smoke, it was filthy all the way through. I disassembled it to nothing, ripped out all of the LED lighting and the massive amount of extra stuff. Took that thing in the shower and blasted it down with a mixture of various soaps and a rag. Took forever but it came out really nice and no longer had a smell. I've had to clean a good few computer parts of various liquids, dirty definitely doesn't mean bad. Fans though, those suck. I've replaced more fans than anything else.
TBH most fans are garbage.
The fucking morons at Fedex twice in a row ignored the note on my apartment building's front door saying to call me when the package arrived, because it's an apartment building, where there's no way for them to get inside unless I come down to unlock the door. They left no note to tell me what was happening, and never called. Nobody from Amazon or any other shipping service has had any similar issues with basic literacy, and they've all managed to just read the note and call me to unlock the door. When I talked to their customer service 2 hours after they apparently were here, they said that there was no way for them to have the driver come back, and no way for them to even have the package sent to anywhere nearby. Despite there being a Fedex a couple blocks away, they HAVE to send the package 15 miles away (aka 1 and a half hour bus ride), and there's no way for me to get my package until monday. And even if I want to have the shipment held at the nearby location instead of actually getting delivered here (still arriving monday, way past the 3 day shipping it was supposed to take), I STILL have to separately call up newegg again and wait in the phone queue to take some kind of "hold" off the package so they can redirect it. I paid $10 for shipping and this is the kind of shitty fucking service I'm getting. I'm just ranting here but I'm definitely steering clear of Newegg and Fedex whenever I can from now on. $20 off your GPU isn't worth this kind of headache.
For non-business delivery, I can't stand FedEx. That said, if you're one of the fortunate ones who can accept packages at work, they're pretty OK for making sure stuff gets delivered in ok shape (as opposed to FastTrac (or w/e their name is) whom throws HDDs from the curb at my door).
Yeah I get pretty much everything shipped to work. Luckily I have the admin office in my building too so I can get shit shipped there that I don't want at work.
I'm at the point where I basically don't recommend any fans other than ones from Noctua or be quiet! because they're the only companies who make consistently good fans.
Corsair ML Pros are very nice, as are Nidec Servo Gentle Typhoons.
Noiseblockers are pretty bullet proof too
Mine are unbearably loud above 60% PWM and are uncomfortably audible above 40% so I'm not sure about that. I do have the 140mm versions though, two of them.
Weird, when I looked into them they performed very well, at least the 140mm versions. I'm a HUGE fan of the Gentle Typhoons (and Noctua's revival of them with the NF-A12x25) for 120mm applications though, spin these to 100% and they're still inaudible while blowing more air than just about anything else.
I keep them at 40% PWM and they're entirely silent but still move quite a bit of air so I'm not really complaining. Especially since I got them for free from a friend.
Does anyone have any good case recommendations for something that has dust filters and looks relatively plain? I'd prefer to avoid windows and lighting if possible. I was looking at the Corsair 400Q but it seems to be out of stock everywhere. The 400C seems to be basically the same case minus the sound dampening material, and plus a window. Are there any similar cases to the 400Q or should I bite the bullet and get used to having a window?
Fractal Design makes some excellent plain cases with very good dust filters. All their offerings are solid.
Define R6 is a great case for those requirements IMO.
I was going to recommend it by name but I reconsidered when I saw the prices. I thought it was a bit cheaper than it is.
Fractal cases are pricey for sure, compare the Define R6 to the prices for an Phanteks Enthoo Pro M, which I think is a better case for most situations (but ESP watercooling).
Fractal's charging you for that "sleek refrigerator" aesthetic.
I'm trying to decide between an i5-7600 or an i5-7600k with a cooler. 260euros vs 380euros. Was planning on pairing it up with a 1080ti but my brother convinced me to settle for a regular 1080.
Looking that one up it seems much better and it's less expensive so what's the catch?
Alright so here's my current list: MSI Z270 PC-Mate Intel Core i5-7600 Kaby Lake (Though I'd switch that for an AMD Ryzen 5 2600x then?) ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GAMING  Corsair CX750M Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz 16GB (2x 8gb) Samsung 860 EVO (1x250gb and 2x500gb) And then I'd stick it all in an Fractal Design - Define C chassi
