I'm not completely sure though, I have never used one of these, you might have to confirm some prompt to output video.
It's a pretty important security function. Otherwise anything connected to your phone could just grab your files.

also I just did a fresh install of Win10 1903 and I noticed when I woke up this morning my PC was off....so I pressed the power button and it sprang to life from sleep mode for the first time in a long time. for some reason on nearly every previous build, if my computer went to sleep, it just wouldn't come back. the fans would spin, the keyboard would light up, but windows would never recover. so, uh, good job Microsoft?

funnily enough I've had the complete opposite experience
1903 has completely broken sleep mode, it might wake up 1/10 times I try.

also determined one of my two older RAM sticks must have failed, because I kept getting BSODs with KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE. tested with the two new sticks the first channel and each old stick at a time and it just refused to boot with one of them. so RIP my 32GB of RAM, which I only got to experience for like three weeks. 24GB is not the amount of RAM I want, but the amount of RAM I deserve

It's not one of the two sticks I just bought. Those two work fine. These are two DDR4-2400 sticks I bought when I built the rig three years ago
I have a similar issue on Firefox. Not when changing tabs but when loading up something on a new tab the background is always white, even though I have dark theme and dark css style addon.
what speed is the newer ram? unless you're doing something where quantity matters more than quality you're probably no worse off
same speed, same CAS latency. I made sure to buy matching RAM just to minimize the possibility of a conflict. the new sticks work great, hell, even the new sticks with the one working old stick works great. I did have the full 32GB working at one point up until the blue screens, but now I've been running for two days with no crashes so seems like I solved the problem

We have Amazon warehouses in Portland and Salem, Oregon both of which are within two hours of me with Seattle not all that much further. I really have never understood how it takes over a week to ship things less than 12-16 hours away. It's like they carry them by hand up and down I-5. Amazon has even ping ponged packages from the bay area, to seattle, back down to SLC, up to Boise and across back down Portland passing me up no less than twice.
There's an option to change the usb configuration in developer settings, never tested it though.
Would be great if they just let you bind the setting to a hardware id, like what we do for remembering adb permissions

A Dell Inspiron n5010 with whopping 3GB of RAM, no charger, pretty much dead at this point, i've tried to tear it down, but no luck taking out the keyboard just to unscrew the remaining screws.
I'll try to check the hard drive first, maybe later i'll buy a charger.
Get a charger and you'll have yourself a neat lil' XP machine. Whether or not you need an XP machine is another question.

When running your own DNS resolver is it better to query cloudflare/third parties or just go direct with root name servers?
I value privacy, so considering root name servers. But on the other hand, quite a few of those are run by a government agency. At least they won't be selling my data though.
Assuming you're not doing special DNS filtering, then there's basically no reason to run a DNS resolver unless you have a huge network under it (think more than 250+ clients). Just ping cloudflare, google, and opendns and see who is faster to your connection.
So I managed to save 2 Optoma EP1755 projectors from getting scrapped. One clearly has a failing DMD chip with white specs showing up all over the screen, some of them jittering while the other has black vertical lines, evenly spaced across the projected image.
Would there be a good chance that swapping out the DMD chips would give me one functioning unit?
Folks who have used Clonezilla before.
Would Clonezilla fail if a volume/disk was reading bad sectors?
I'm assuming it would since I'm trying to clone a clients drive but it's failed on 1 occasion. Could be random chance but I'm not soooo sure since the drive is "ok".
It should do that, no good cloning software would trust the results if it starts getting IO errors.
That's what ddrescue is for.
